I give up, I can't keep this up, I'm depressed and anxietous all the time, I'm always in the bathroom IBS; I give up, I wonder how long it takes for your body to just stop because of depression, I know I'm close to three years now! All I have to wake up to is no job no school no work, just an empty computer game and missery :( I don't know if I'm even going to try to get up any more? My life sucks, high school sucks, maybe sething will change I don't know?

Don't give up! I understand the feeling that things won't get better, but they can and do. My husband was clinically depressed and on three prescriptions when I met him. He's no longer depressed and stopped taking the medication several years ago.

Things will change. It may take a little time, but they will!

I can't tell you the "meaning of life". I wish I could.

I will tell you that you are doing yourself no good playing computer games.

Go for a walk. Dig in the garden. Watch the sunset.

Better still, join a charity that helps to feed the homeless.

It sounds corny but if you cast your bread on the waters it will be returned to you ten fold.

Stop playing the computer game. My mental fortitude improved after I left World of Warcraft.

Find something you enjoy doing and devote yourself to it. Me, I enjoy helping aspies. So I devote myself to it in any way I can.

I'm sorry you feel this way. I feel like this most of the time (including the bit about the computer games ), and it's truly the definition of hell. My only advice is to keep busy: you mightn't even like what you're doing but it's a lot more productive than sitting around wasting your time and growing to hate yourself. I recommend taking up reading, if you don't read already. It takes up a lot of time, makes you look smarter, and from what I can tell makes people more socially acceptable: NT's love to label people, and if you read they'll assume you're a nerd, which sounds crap but usually they treat "nerds" better than people they don't understand.

Anyway, I hope you pull through this :)

If you've been diagnosed with IBS, that is a big challenge to deal with. People who have such problems with a lot of pain often get depression as a result. I hope you are getting help with that. For the chance of succeeding, you have to keep trying; that is the rule of this game called life. Just my rule, but it's better than giving up, in my opinion. I totally understand a desire to give up, believe me.

You have identified one futile thing you do, overdoing the computer game. Good on you for figuring that out. Now to replace it with something more constructive, imaginative, life affirming, et cetera.

What's the anxiety about? That can be a tough one to deal with, too. It can be very hard to find a decent comfort zone in this world. I still struggle with that, too.

Life is what you make it, but it is not necessarily easy for most of us. We are fortunate to have been born in the first world, but that is about it. The rest must be built, found, et cetera.

Edit: I looked back at some of your recent posts and it seems you had a death in the family this month and you are just 15 years old. (I'm old enough to be your mother, in contrast.) Just saying this is bound to be a tough time for you, and being 15 is definitely not easy, as I recall. Hang in there.
