A small country estate for me.
Decent size house with a few, large rooms, plenty of garaging and 5-10 acres of land that i could plant out and manage myself.
cellars, lake-side location, total privacy.
I'm thinking Scottish Borders areas.

I always dreamed of a motorhome...a cross between a car and a house.

But for a house....
It'd be big, but not huge. Big enough so it had one really big room, but the rest were normal-sized rooms.
There'd be a small gym, a really cool kitchen.
All the rooms would be BRIGHT colors, and the bed would have a canopy over it.
It have a big backyard, by a river......with a little outlet to the side, kinda like a pool.
Trees for climbing, and green green grass.

I think about this a lot, I saw my perfect apartment on a property website and couldn't stop thinking about it. It was just a one bedroom with a sitting room and kitchen in one but I loved it. I even went to see the outside of it and worked out how I would get to work or to the shops.

But really, just a studio would do me as long as it was clean and simple with good storage and most of all space for a pet turtle, that would be my dream.

My dream house is made of clouds.

I have several house plans that I dream about. One of my all time favorite plans was designed in 1964 and is extremely eclectic like me. But I also like classical houses from the 1800s such as the one shown below. I have measured drawings for this house.

There are several houses I like and certain parts about different ones, so it would be too hard to choose just one.

Overall though I like the country, I like a lot of nature around the house. I like wood floors and huge windows where quite a bit of sun can stream through. I also like wide open areas. Between a couple wide areas or a bunch of tiny rooms, I'd pick wide areas.

For a "dream house' I would like something like this. Something elegant with lots of architectural details, a wrap around porch, a carriage house, numerous fireplaces, turrets, a beautiful staircase, a coatroom,cantilevered extensions to the upper floor rooms, lots of woodwork, multiple rooflines, a 3rd floor


I'm also a huge fan of post and beam construction with lots of stonework


considering my current age and situation I would be VERY happy with a simple 2 bedroom ranch with an open floor plan.and a daylight basement, with a workshop and garage on plenty of wooded land.

I'd like to live in a two-bedroom house away from other people, either in the countryside somewhere in the UK or on the Oregon coast here in the US. The exterior of my house would be painted pastel blue with pastel pink trimming, because that's what my childhood home looked like. The interior would have lavender-colored walls and wine-colored carpeting. One bedroom would be used for sleeping, and the other would be used to display my collections of My Little Pony and Alice in Wonderland stuff. I would own 3 to 5 cats, all rescued from the local animal shelter.

I love Victorians... When they belong to somebody else! My back and wrists are already aching from the thought of trying to maintain the paint on that house .

I like the open beam/river rock look too, and would take that happily. But as I said in my original post earlier in the thread, I'm happy with our house now.

A little tentish type thing in the middle of the DRC jungle, where the bonobos live!! !

Yeah, first time I've heard of the DRC being a place people want to live...

I want a window seat, and a washer-dryer combo in the house. Also a BIG vegetable garden.
