I tried to watch the video but can’t stream it fast enough, Spain is a bit behind when it comes to internet speed, 5GB is huge out here, but still not good enough. I will bookmark it and watch it later. It looks interesting as long as it’s not a video about Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck throwing a load of plates into the air, I will buff it for later.

Whenever this question comes up within my mind, I reference the Drake equation and Fermi paradox.. but then again.. the math works, but since most of the variables in it are intrinsically indeterminate it's meaningless. I feel the probability is high that out there somewhere, life exists. Earth is kind of like a cosmic spaceship within it's own right - the sun being it's power source, as we spiral through space time. Our radiocarbon footprint etched within the passing space time. I've read before that it's more than likely we live in a holographic universe, perhaps simulated. It'd make more sense.. the probabilities itself that we're born, are almost impossible to calculate. When it's all said and done though, I view we're like droplets of water metaphorically, and when we die we re-join the ocean, but at what point does the droplet become the ocean.. it's all connected, the universe expressing itself.

It is NOT a question of life existing elsewhere ! !! Imagine a planet that's Earth-like but inhabited by intelligent dolphins with arms and hands with opposable thumbs. They have civilization, art, philosophy, all under the oceans. They never think about spaceships or for that matter, existing on dry land. Imagine an earth-like planet with beings similar to us, but their technology stopped at what we call the Middle Ages. No electricity, no nuclear energy, but they have intelligence and civilization. There is NO guarantee that a society will progress. Imagine a planet of people, super intelligent when compared to us, with super technology when compared to ours, and absolutely no inclination to explore deep space. They have colonized the planets in their solar system and decided "meh, good enough".

You have to say there is a race of beings far more intelligent than us, far more peaceful than us, and far more curious (reckless, even) than us to say there are aliens visiting this benighted cesspool in intergalactic ships ! !!

We learn through curiosity, if the beings you talk about were intelligent then space eventually would be on the agenda. You can’t go from A to B without being curious about what B entails.

Curiosity feeds a hungry mind, it spurs intelligence.

You can't automatically say aliens are as curious as we are. But let's accept that they are. What about caution? They would have to be downright reckless to come here.

No.

That show (and the entire channel) serve only the prurient interests of the ill-informed, the gullible, and the paranoiac - in other words, "Ancient Aliens" is designed to appeal solely to the same type of limited mentality that typifies trolls of the "911 Truther" and the "Obama Birther" sorts.

Ancient Aliens is worth watching if only for this guy's hair . And he's a meme.

Or a mime.

Not sure.

I don't really believe in them, but anything is possible. It would be very interesting if we found out there is other life out there, somewhere.

I have no opinion and suspect all theories and propositions, anything is possible.

I support the motion to 'leave our cows alone' and suggest we lead by example.
