I am spending the entire day with Waldo curled up on the couch in my jammies and watching Christmas shows! No homework, no people. I'm also going to pick up two rotisserie (did I spell that right?) chickens - one for me and one for Waldo with all the fixins!

What are you doing for Turkey Day?

I don't even know the exact date of Thanksgiving.
I'm serious.
It's a day like any other to me.

Except for the United Methodist church about a mile east of me that is having a public thanksgiving dinner, not a thing. I'm not even going to bother with my brothers, since I'm persona non grata at their houses.

Eating a bunch of good food, finally getting a chance to work on my dragon drawings again for the first time in months because there will be no-one in the house to bother me.

The buses don't run on Thanksgiving so me & my girlfriend are going to her brother's the day before cuz her parents are doing the meal there.

Cooking about 200 Thanksgiving dinners in the week before the day itself, then flopping down and dying on the actual holiday. I did all that and cooked a full dinner for about 25 members of my local AS meetup group last year, but that was just too much, so I'm scaling back this year. If you calculate the poundage out on all the turkeys I've prepared since Friday, I'm easily making dinner for 2,000 people, which is a hell of a responsibility.

^ Blimey. I love cooking but being a chef must be very stressful.

My husband and I are going to my mom's new house in Cleveland (the nicer part) for Thanksgiving, partly because his parents are going to Mentor to see relatives.

Thanksgiving was in October, so nothing really. :)

Also Thanksgiving is not usually a huge thing with my family. I usually just go to my parents for the weekend for a turkey dinner, and usually it's just the three of us or my Nanny too.

A few years ago we did have something of a family reunion on Thanksgiving, and in spite of all the people it was nice seeing aunts, uncles and cousins I hardly ever get to see. But if we did that every year I'd be less looking forward to it.

Indeed, and I'm the sous chef, which means that while I do all the actual cooking, it's the head chef who actually did all the organizing, which might actually be the harder part. We just finished up today with the last of the smoked and brined turkeys, now it's just two crazy days of non-stop pick ups and grill orders. The place I'm at has a weird setup, as we're a butcher shop, a deli, and a grill, so trying to keep all three businesses running at the same time is a bit of a balancing act.
