Here's a quote related to my obsession.

"It is fortunate that cryosleep does not work on robots." -Clank

those who gesticulate wildy during the dousing of a conflagration, will have their fingers burned and their noses will not be properly picked for centuries to come.
(their noses will next be picked by paleontologists enticing their skulls out of the dirt).

whatever

car parks are parks in which cars should be allowed (and encouraged) to frolic and play, but i see that every car is asleep in parks for cars that i take my car to.
even when i blow the horn at them, they do not wake up.

when i bump them with my bumper bar, they obstinately remain asleep.

car parks are boring places, and i can see why there are so many traffic jams after i see how lazy all the cars are even when they are in a car park.

"Have you not heard of that madman who lit a lantern in the bright morning hours, ran to the market place, and cried incessantly: "I seek God! I seek God!"---As many of those who did not believe in God were standing around just then, he provoked much laughter. Has he got lost? asked one. Did he lose his way like a child? asked another. Or is he hiding? Is he afraid of us? Has he gone on a voyage? emigrated?---Thus they yelled and laughed"

To open your quote. I feel it's better with context.

More on topic: I collect books and wine.

if only people would plan for "never",
then "never" will there be be a catastrophe.

if they do not try to control forever,
then forever will unfold as it seems inevitable to me.

A quote that's always stuck with me from a game (Alpha C.) is from Nietzsche, but I understood recently I've been hearing it wrong:

"Companions, the Creator seeks, not corpses, not herds and believers. Fellow creators, the Creator seeks..."

Now I've always heard it like that, with a capitalised "C" Creator, meaning God, and rather liked it so; but I suppose it's really small c creator throughout. Which is a literal diminution so far as I'm concerned. :?

(By the way--slightly aimed at last poster--the point of this thread isn't to post philosopher quotes.)

well the original I had posted because the ones from the creators of the game were inspired by his work. So... I went to the root instead. But I digress.
