This might sound like a very bizarre question, but for those of us who can never remember, which tap is hot and which is cold? Now we will have this topic here to remind us whenever we forget. Please only answer the poll if you are absolutely certain of your answer, otherwise I will be more confused than ever!

In my house the faucets in the sink are like this: Hot on the left and Cold on the right. The only sink in my house that is weird is the Kitchen Sink. In the Kitchen Sink the cold is on the left and the hot is on the right. I don't know why this is the case. When my parents bought the house back in 1975 this is the way it was. Besides my weird kitchen sink, all of other sinks in my house and in other places have the hot on the left and the cold on the right.

They are taps, yes?

Cold right, hot left. I had to look at the faucet to make sure because I thought it was the opposite at first.

here the hot tap is on the left, cold on the right, with the exception of a mixer tap in the downstairs shower room

I did choose the wrong option in the poll (solely because I am half asleep)

It was the same way here until I changed it...made me nuts, I was always turning on the wrong faucet. All the other sinks where fine, just the kitchen was like that.

I have never seen anything other than hot on the left, cold on the right. And at my place, they are conveniently labelled H and C. I've seen other places that have a stripe of colour instead, red for hot and blue for cold.

And once near Montréal, I saw taps on which both had C. Apparently, the one on the right was C for "Cold". The one on the left was C for "Chaud" (which is French for "Hot"). I'm not sure if it was that way because someone was trying to be funny.

Our kitchen sink is also the reverse of the norm like that.

In my little prison called Canada, the hot is on the left and the cold is on the right.
