Woo hoo, OpenOffice works like a dream! I should have downloaded it to my laptop ages ago! I love having a working word-processing program on my own machine again. A big thank you to IdahoRose for recommending it to me!

Today, I went about my day normally, but I did so dressed as a pirate. It lead to a few fun situations. Most people got it and smiled when they saw me (especially in class) but some ignored me and others made fun of me. The taunting didn't really bother me though. I wouldn't be dressed as a pirate if I wanted to be taken seriously.

A few people asked if I was supposed to be arab (Including Steve, the janitor, who usually gets these things immediately). One person even asked if I was gay. I don't see how being gay is even remotely similar to being a pirate though...

Most people got it when they saw the jolly roger on my shirt. I know it's not historically acurate, but I figured a hat, ragged clothing and an eyepatch just wasn't enough to get the point across.

Finally resolved an issue with the DWP regarding redeclaring my volunteering commitments.

Somebody at head office managed to "confuse" my records when I was moved from ESA to JSA and an adviser told me I should redeclare them all just to make it legally watertight. Of course, cue a two-week wait for all the paperwork to be assembled.

At last, that's one less thing to worry about
