One of those rare occasions where most of todays work had already been done for me, as if by magic!

I allowed myself to childishly examine and play around with one of the mylar emergency blankets I recently bought... my inner child was quite amused.

They are quite great. They're very shiny like chrome on one side, and the side that faces you is a smokey transparent. When under it, it feels very cozy like there's another human's warmth right next to you. It also doesn't feel itchy like all fabric blankets make me feel, though it is very light weight, and consequently, audibly crinkly. I listen to music when I sleep to drown out the outside world anyway, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I bought them for my transition to moving to a new home, as, as of prior, I didn't have any blanket to sleep under for warmth for about a week because all of my things have been shipped to storage, and I hadn't anticipated getting so cold at night while even wearing my jacket. They say they're reusable on the package, and they are rather cheap. If they last at least a week or two each, I might start using them as my standard blanket for good. Everyone already knows that I'm weird... what would anyone possibly seeing that I sleep under a space blanket change? >_>

Went back to work today after recovering from my cold. I feel a lot better than I did last week.

This may not mean much to you guys, but The Idiot by Iggy Pop turns 37 today. :) The Idiot is such a great album, it was so ahead of its time in many ways. It's truly astounding how it was released in 1977.

Listening to the sweet music of Skylarks contrasted by the shrieks of a group of 20 or so Peewits in a field as i walked my dog. Had to take a 20 minute break to watch and listen to them regardless of the wet and windy weather.
