I know this women who was a hardcore alcoholic. She turned up to a job interview in London drunk and also used to hide wine round the woods.

The lady used was a model but her alcoholism made her obese and skin blotchy. Oh yeah and she has also developed dementia as well.

No. Her brother had to drive to london to pick her up after the interview.

He must have been furious with her.

It seems to be a common misconception of alcoholics and drug addicts that they convince themselves that they can function well enough to perform a job. Some can, but Most cannot.. yet so many believe they can it's kinda delusional. Especially the ones who's time perception is so far off they don't know what day it is, what time of day or night, and end up hours and hours late for any sort of commitment... ummmm, you have no chance of showing up to work never mind being able to perform a task properly. Get real.

I wonder how the interviewers reacted to her showing up intoxicated?

Almost certainly annoyed that she wasted their time.

Had a flight of 4 beers at Off The Rails brewing in Vancouver to check out a few dozen paintings Ken Foster the artist has on display there for a month as they showcase different artists. (I took Ken over there on a field trip to see his stuff & have a couple beers.)

Tried a red IPA (quite good, reminded me of one of my fave IPA's that doesn't have comparisons I'm aware of), a blueberry sour, a lychee beer, And "big chonk," chocolate peanut butter stout. (bought a 4 pack of that on the way out.) Apparently the brewer that made it dipped out to Australia to live and work and won some Australian beer award with the same recipe.

Went over to a friend's later for dinner and a movie and had an 8% tall can of some hazy IPA from the island - pretty good beer, too. Paired nicely with Kraft dinner & hot dog wieners lol been a long time since I've eaten that.

No, physically impossible.

You might FEEL a little lighter in your steps because you're intoxicated, but your mass and the gravitational force of the Earth have not changed.

Uh, not "do you weigh less when drinking ..." but "does the less you weigh when drinking mean ..."

IOW does being a lower weight than average mean you get tipsy faster.

Body weight definitely does correlate to drug tolerance. Doctor's calculate the dosage of some drugs that people take by their weight. Heavier people can be given higher doses of certain drugs.

I don't see why that would be any different where alcohol is concerned.

To answer that question:

Yes, in general the less you weigh the faster you get drunk. You have less blood volume so alcohol concentration rises faster.

Not all people the same weight get tipsy at the same rate, though. A 200lb fat guy will probably get drunker faster than a 200lb muscular guy for example. They both weigh 200lbs, but the more muscle you have the higher the volume of blood you have to dilute alcohol in.

But in general, yes, light weight people get tipsy faster.

Yep, that sometimes catches me out too.

Does drinking on medication make you get drunk quicker?

I drink on medication but even when I have 3-4 pints of bud light spread out over 3 hours it’s hard to feel a buzz.
