Carpet
To see a carpet in your dream, represents your way of protecting yourself from life's harsh realities. Alternatively, a carpet symbolizes luxury, comfort or richness. Consider the condition and designs of the carpet and how it parallels the foundation that you have laid for yourself in life. Perhaps the dream is telling you that you are refusing to confront some issue and instead are sweeping it under the carpet/into the hole in the floor to be dismissed and forgotten? The carpet falling into the loo hole seems to indicate that one should not throw out the baby with the bathwater [to mix a metaphor] on pain of ignoring important but unpleasant lifelessons, or dismissing risky but profitable opportunities in an effort to avoid some possible unpleasantness.
Hole
To see a hole in the floor, denotes hidden aspects of your activities. On the other hand, it may mean that you are feeling hollow or empty inside. This dream may be an awakening for you to get out and expose yourself to new interests and activities. Alternatively, the dream may be a pun on "wholeness' or completeness.
Yoga
To dream that you are performing yoga, may symbolize unity, balance, harmony, calmness, and self-discipline. You have complete control of your mind and body. Alternatively, the dream indicates that in contrast with your fit and toned physiology, you are mentally stressed and overwhelmed. You need to take a breather.
Toilet
To see a toilet in your dream, symbolizes a release of emotions. You need to get rid of something in your life that is useless. Seeing a toilet in your dream may also be a physical manifestation brought about by a full bladder. The dream is attempting to get you up and to the bathroom.
Bathroom
To dream that you are in the bathroom, relates to your instinctual urges. You may be experiencing some burdens/feelings and need to "relieve yourself". Alternatively, a bathroom symbolizes purification and self-renewal. You need to cleanse yourself, both emotionally and psychologically.
Mattress
To see a mattress in your dream, represents your support system. Alternatively, the dream means that you have new responsibilities and duties that will require your time and attention.
Unknown People
To see people you don't know in your dream, denotes hidden aspects of yourself that you need to confront or acknowledge.
Strangers
To see strangers in your dream, signifies parts of yourself that are repressed and hidden. Alternatively, it symbolizes the archetypal dream helpers who are offering you insight and advice.

Last night I dreamt me and my mum were in my room looking out the window. And I knew there was a travelling circus advertising their show by walking through the streets. The first thing I saw was a male orangutan on a lead leading a woman, then followed by 2 female orangutans leading a man and a woman each. And the orangutans were trying to walk onto my drive and get away from them but they just got pulled away. I was pissed that it was an animal circus, and also the fact that orangutans are on leads was just crazy, I complained at my mum while she agreed. Then there were big floats with clowns and acrobats on them waving and posing, and there was always a chimp in clothes doing a wave and a pose. Then followed by some sort of large herbivorous animal, either an elephant or a horse but I can't remember which.
Then all of a sudden me and mum were in a bus or a really high car, and behind us there was a big brightly coloured bus that was decorated with a few balloons and streamers inside, and the woman that was leading the male orangutan was driving the bus and a man was sitting next to her. She asked us if we wanted to watch her circus show and we turned down the offer, then I said something about animals so the driver was "meh, fair enough".
Then all of a sudden we were in this house owned by the circus people (and various animals) and they were having a party with buffet food and balloons. We were in the living room and the man and woman from the bus were sitting opposite us. The woman was on an armchair to the right of me stroking a dog and the man was on the far left of the room. The room was dimly lit and cozy. Through a door I could see a kitchen-diner where there was a table with food, lots of party things and people having a laugh and the animals were there too. I could see a young chimp of about 1 holding a chimp teddy and tottering about. The woman offered to show me the chimp and let them come into the living room, I was like "ok!" and couldn't turn that opportunity down. I saw the little chimp stand by the door and I beckoned him to come in, so he sat by me on the settee. And I was like "ohh I wonder what chimp fur feels like" so I stroked his shoulder then he sat more comfortably. Then he started to talk, and telling me how he's learned to count. While we were talking he was slowly morphing into a human 3 year old wearing a navy blue fleece and trousers, I kept looking at him trying to work out what the hell he was before he'd fully morphed. He also looked a lot like someone in the nursery class I used to work in when I was 14/15. Then he walked out the room, so I whispered to my mum "he looks like a human" as if it was all a hoax. Then the woman asked if I wanted to see his twin brother, I said yes so he walked in. He was an 18 month old human not a chimp this time, and he had freaky looking anime eyes. I was very disappointed that my moment was ruined by them morphing into people.

i dreamt that i was back in high school [yet again
] and i was running late as usual. i missed the bus so i took another bus that mysteriously showed up, only i found out later that this bus was not going to my old high school but instead went up to seattle, to some bus depot that had buses who were express-bound for mexico- i didn't want to go to mexico, and from seattle was a loooooong walk back home, much less to my old high school. so i tried to find a payphone [even in my dreams i lack a cell phone, just like IRL] but they were all being hogged by various gabbing folks, so i asked a receptionist if i could use his phone, and he handed the receiver to me and it was very weird-looking, [like a french minitel terminal] with an LCD readout that told me to press 0 for operator, which is what i did- i was answered by a lady speaking in a thick mexican accent who asked me who i wanted to talk to, so i said Bethel High School [my old school] in Spanaway- and she asked me what for, and i told her i needed to call in sick, and so i waited...... and waited....... only to give up after what seemed like hours waiting to be connected. then out of frustration i walked outside and encountered a seemingly helpful guy out in the parking lot of the bus terminal, i got in his car, he let me drive for some reason but all we ended up doing is driving in circles around the parking lot and the block. then he kicked me out of his car, and i found myself walking home. then suddenly in the middle of the walk, i was in the school lunchroom in front of the vice principal who saw me and said "what are YOU doing here? the operator said you had called in Gay."
that made me scratch my head for a bit [in the dream], wondering why hadn't that damned nosy operator just patched me through instead of spuriously horning in with her obnoxious invasion of my privacy
...then i awoke.

Lol, called in gay
I don't really interpret dreams, but there's definitely a lot of frustration and anxiety in this dream.
Thanks for interpreting mine, I'm amazed that you can get so much out of my one line dream summaries.

I had quite a few last night!
DREAM 1:
I woke up in the middle of the night to pet the cat and she ran into the front room, I also saw a spirit thingy run into the room as well. I was a bit scared and couldn't find the spirit thing. I was upset and my dad starting yelling at me. Then the neighbour's dog starting barking. The spirit was kind of heavenly, but I was freaked out. I don't think this type of dream would happen to anyone except me as I am not very religious It's the worst dream I have had in a while.
DREAM 2:
I was at a concert put on by a guy named Sean (I know who Sean is and he does exist in real life and is a musician) in a very small venue; it only held like 30 people or something It was like a room in a rec centre. Anyway, I was with my mom and we were the only ones there when we got there. In fact, Sean was warming up with this lady that I did not know. Sean did something bad and the lady got angry with him and pushed him out of the room. In about 3 minutes, he came back and there were more people in the venue by that time.
DREAM 3:
I went to a hockey game. Outside the arena area, there were tables set up for people to eat at, at the rink level. We ate there after the first period. I decided to go on the rink after that, even thought there were hockey players on it. I forgot to drop my fork before I went on the rink. I started talking to the hockey players. All of the suddenly, a lady decided to pull me over the rink and she said that I wasn't allowed to have the fork on the rink. She made me get in her car and was going to drive me somewhere. I thought I was going to the police station. On the road, there was a sign saying "Hawaii" with an arrow pointing left and another one saying "winter" with an arrow putting right. We followed the arrow that said "winter". However, I didn't go to a police station, I went to this building that had comfy seats, where you could watch movies. There were other girls there and they chose a movie that I was OK with, but wasn't thrilled with. I left the place in about an hour. On the way home, I passed a swimming pool where there were hundreds of people doing water aerobics at the same time. Sean, from the other dream, was there and he was wearing black trunks and dove into the pool. He was easily able to pass all the people doing water aerobics, but couldn't swim very well. I tried saying "hi" to him, but he wasn't even acknowledging me. He got out and the pool staff made him leave.

My weird dream involved a boy I will call A and a girl I will call B.
"A" sort of cornered me and asked me out. I reluctantly said yes. Later, B and I were in front of a building that resembled a store, maybe Barnes and Noble. I held her hand, I think, and I kissed her. I remember it being very moist (I know, strange). I then left to a crosswalk, the other side resembling a hill in Runyon Canyon. "A" was on the other side. I crossed and he approached me. He said, "I thought you said nothing is going on between you and B." I sensed he was jealous and ran. I couldn't run fast enough and he caught up. Scared of what might happen, I ran in the other direction, albeit not fast enough.
Below (Not dream):
Now here's some background information on A and B. B is a girl I had the hugest crush on and she is my closest friend (that's how I found out I was bi/gay). Recently, I told her I had to "let her go" because we were such close friends and it's just so hard for me.
A is a boy I used to hang around last year. We haven't talked in a while. But recently in D.C. (for a field trip) the whole class was in Market Square. We were allowed to go out and buy stuff. I stood alone, listening to a violinist play that Celine Dion song from Titanic. He crossed the street and asked where I was going. I said "nowhere". He said he didn't know where he was going either, so we walked together. Later, he asked me to go to the bakery with him. I said yes and since the bakery was closed, we bought t-shirts and ice cream. I remember feeling normal for once and my thoughts were at ease.
I need help with interpreting this dream.

since you asked, here is my 2-cents' worth, not adjusted for inflation-
sorry, i am no expert here, the only thing i could get a handle on, was the [dream] fact that your female companion kissed you but your male companion didn't get that far yet. IRL, are you struggling with this issue, IOW do you feel some internal pressure to choose which lifepath [gay/straight/ambiguous] to follow? are you having a hard time choosing? is there something about the hetero side of life that scares you? the wet kiss indicates a lot of emotions associated with the girl, and/or arousal, but the jealous boy you run away from indicates something about the hetero side of life that you are not ready for yet, but that it is gaining on you or you are slowly warming to it.
Book Shop
To be standing in front of a bookstore in your dream, indicates that you are trying to fulfill your needs and desires, and seek a calm deliberative answer to your existential questions in the marketplace of ideas. You are moving toward your goals at a slow and steady pace. Books symbolize knowledge, intellect, information and wisdom. The dream may represent your calling into a specific field of work or an area that you need to devote more study to. Alternatively, the dream could be telling you not to judge a book by its cover.
Intersection
To dream that you are at an intersection or crosswalk, represents a decision or choice that you need to make in order to progress forward [in life], concerning "which side of the street" [IOW straight, gay or ambiguous] you wish to be on.
Hill
To dream that you are climbing a hill, signifies your struggles in achieving a goal. What is atop the hill is a potential prize but with unknown pitfalls- but still it shines and beckons you.
hope this is helpful or at least food for thought.

I was in my bed, suffering from a Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area. A cat played with its toy mouse, flapping its tail happily. It jumped off the bed and made a watery sort of ripple as it landed on the floor. My illness was gone, and so I stepped outside of my room. I was fully clothed, and at an urban sidewalk not unlike one at Disney West Side. A beautiful girl walked by and started to direct me over to a sort of "love sauna". As we were about to kiss, I was dropped back into my bed, near a flashing "NO DOGS PERMITTED" sign. The sign stopped working, but an alarm of a penguin yelling and ranting incoherently exploded. A stairway similar to that of M.C. Escher appeared. I walked up this staircase, and Classic!Sonic ran past me. I decided to jump down to my current plane of gravity, and ended up in a winter resort.
Game set.
(i moved this from the adult dream thread as i think there is more dream interpretation here)
i have a question for the expert dream interpreters...
often my dreams are noisy. while i am in the dream nothing sounds too loud - it's just like real life. but as i wake up, it's like the volume is suddenly turned from "high" to "off".
it often reminds me of the crescendo in the song A Day In The Life by the Beatles. except that i am not aware of it except in contrast when i wake up and the world is quiet. it is a bit of a relief, kind of. i feel a release of stress at the same moment.
does this make sense, and does anyone else experience anything like this? do you know an explanation?

I just woke up from a short nap. In my dream i was cuddeled up with a person who was just stroking my hair. It felt really nice and usually i hate people touching my hair. It was pitch black and we were talking about something, i think the weather, but just my hair being touched was the whole dream.

some thoughts- this has been reported by lucid dreamers and astral "travellers" such as the late robert monroe and others. metaphysical types will tell you that as the astral body disengages and re-engages with the physical body during Out-Of-Body-Experiences that there will often be a loud rushing or roaring sound that quickly abates once the connection is broken or re-established at the end of the experience. to borrow something from electricity [we are the body electric, after all
WOW that is so interesting! that is exactly what i feel like when i wake from those dreams - like getting jarred back into my body. i need to pay closer attention to the "dreams" so that i can consciously remember what i have seen.
that website explains how to trigger the out-of-body experience, and the process is very similar to a sort of meditative technique i have been trying lately. i mentioned it on a thread about unlocking altered consciousness (not sure i should link to it here as it was in the Adult forum).
the idea of astral travel makes a lot of sense. thank you so much for the information!

Wow, you're lucky, hyper! I've tried to induce OOBE/Astral Projection in the past. It's a project on my backburner for now.
