Just after I posted last night, I did go out and buy the ingredients for hot toddies. I slept well and woke up feeling much better, so I guess I chose correctly.

Now, I'm having some hot chicken broth, and since I feel better I've added a spoonful of fresh pico de gallo for a little vitamin C and flavor.
