One of my plants is dying because I damaged its roots while transplanting it yesterday. Is there any way I can save it? Other ones seem to be OK.
What type of plant? The compost you use should be suited to the plant. E.g. Is it an acid or a lime loving plant?
Buy some miracle gro continuous release plant food tablets, place one as close to the roots as possible (but don’t let it touch the roots directly) with its tip just above the soil, pour a small amount of water on the tip of the tablet each day, keep the soil moist (not soggy), water the plant by spraying a fine mist on its stem and leaves.
Ensure there aren’t air pockets around the remaining roots and that there are stones on the bottom of the pot for drainage.
You will need to stake the plant for support, four or more bamboo sticks/alternative around the circumference of the pot (avoiding roots) should help it remain upright and prevent its xylem and phloem from irreversible damage due to collapse.
Place in a well lit area away from direct sunlight and intense heat.
Or just buy a new one.
