I’m using the fact that speaking too much or too loudly hurts the incision on my neck/shoulder from my biopsy last week as an excuse to transition to using texting and text-to-speech instead of actually talking (except I’ll still have to talk to my dog if I want him to understand commands), since it’s so much easier for me - I just won’t go back to talking after the pain is gone. So far, so good - although I also need to work on not feeling like I need to talk.
A person I consider a friend online I know, also with autism n health issues overlapping, does this too now!
She h as Ehler Danlos syndrome which tpok her years to get diagnosed she had no idea why she had so much chronic pain n fatigue and i guess its hard fr doctors to knpw based on those symptoms..
She says talking uses too many 'spoons' (measurements of energy). She is very articulate though (when talking unscripted but it sounds like u are reading a book instead of just listenibg to a person talk spontaneously...
from how
Well thought out n well phrased her talking is.. She puts a lot of thought before ahe speaks or writes anyway.. A lot of work she puts into her words before actually saying or writing them...
but the appearance is that she is effortlessly talking like a scholar on the subject.. V skilled.)
