there are two kinds of karma- one quasi-newtonian, and one arcane, largely invisible to humanity operating in a higher echelon of reality. too many folk think that because they "got over" or "got away" with something in this life, that they are home-free. little do they know....

I like to think this is a reality as opposed to a belief .

After doing more research on the fixed star Algol, I learned that having it in your can not only make you a monsterous person (as Medusa herself was a monster), but it can also make one a tragic victim due to circumstances outside their control. Just as Medusa was victimized by both Poseidon and Athena for doing wrong.

One woman explained how her father died from alcoholism after he was drafted and forced to fight in the Vietnam war. When he returned he was met by angry protestors and at only 18 his mother kicked him out and he was essentially homeless. He was victimized by forces outside his control just as Medusa was.

Ugh, why do I keep having dreams where I meet my two childhood friends who I think essentially outgrew me in sixth grade, and they both hate me for some reason or other (either I don’t know why or it’s for a reason that doesn’t even come close to resembling anything in reality)? We parted as acquaintances, I’d guess, since that’s how I feel about our relationships and I was the one who was hurt by it.

In other dream news, I remember in one of my dreams last night, I said “I know I’m dreaming because I’m naked.” Occasionally I am in dreams, but nobody else in the dream ever seems to notice.

Turns out the fixed star I was actually born under was Alphecca. :star:

Quote:
Alphecca (Gemma) (Alpha Corona Borealis)
4 degrees from midheaven.
This white star (actually an eclipsing binary) is said to give the ability to find honor, to live a dignified life, and to create poetry and artwork.

It is conjuct my Pluto in Scorpio but oppose my Moon and Mercury in Taurus. Not sure what it means with those planets astrologically? :chin:

SO YOU THINK IT'S BEEN A HOT SUMMER?
Pity the folks in Nebraska, where it's been so hot, farmers have had to feed their chickens cracked ice to keep them from laying hard-boiled eggs. Talk about hot - an Iowa farmer says the sun was so intense one day, his cornfield exploded into fluffy white clouds of popcorn. His cattle thought it was snowing and froze solid on the spot.
Sure, everyone complains about the weather, but one man has finally decided to do something about it. Fred Pfister, an English professor at College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Mo., has compiled a list of tall weather tales - he calls them "weather windies" - that he's heard on his travels around the country. "When you're from the hills and you're out in the flatlands, the natives like to pull your leg a little bit," he said. "People always exaggerate about the weather." Pfister says he enjoys playing the straight man for old-timers, gas station attendants, store clerks or anyone else who can add to his collection of weather windies.
An Arkansan transplanted in Texas once told Pfister that "comfortable summer days in Dallas are as rare as rocking horse manure." "I love that one," he said. A North Dakotan claimed it gets so cold in his state in winter, that "words freeze in people's mouths and they have to wait until spring to find out what everyone's been talking about." And an Oklahoman swears that the wind blows so hard in the Sooner state that there was a calm day once and everybody fell down.
