-Pseudo-celebrities: "Snookie" and "J-Woww", the Kardashians, formerly Paris Hilton.
-Acting like re-hashing old clothing trends is new and amazing: Really, super tight really skinny jeans? Some with zipper ankles? New? I had them in the 80's. We called the ones without zippers "screw your feet off to get them on jeans".
-Miley Cirus: I just saw her on the cover of a fashion magazine! Please explain.
-Movie and TV actors (PC for actresses) on the covers of fashion magazines. Models are for that. I know, unrealistic images and stuff, but that's why I say stick with cover MODELS. It's easier to see fashion for what it is, fantasy. Artistic expression. New ideas that real people can interpret and use in real life in more realistic ways. Add real people, actresses, musicians, etc. to the covers and real people feel pressure to look that way. Everyone knows there's no way to look like a high fashion super-model without winning the genetic lottery. But, if "what's her name" shed 50 pounds and got plastic surgery and now is on the cover of a magazine people get dumb ideas of trying to do that too.
-Being Politically Correct: Heaven forbid you have an opinion that may offend someone else. What happened to freedom of speech? Why do I have to think excessively about what I say, and try to be a mind reader, and imagine responses to everything before I say it? As long as you are not intentionally trying to hurt someone why can't you have an opinion different than the rest of the planet?

Honestly, I can't stand pretty much every fad or long-term trend. I'll list the ones I hate the most....

Justin Bieber, Rebecca Black, and most modern pop
Ghetto dress
CoD (I can't stand 14-year olds who play CoD for a few months and then all of a sudden think they're ready to go and fight the Taliban!)
Middle class and rich girls under 16 dressing like prostitutes
Shows like Thomas the Tank Engine becoming CGI - and their fandom who writes sick train porns of it and blames Autism as an excuse for their perverted thoughts.
My Little Pony (For the same reasons as Thomas)
KONY 2012 (cheap consumerist political fad that evevated a war criminal to celebrity)
Toyota Prius and the people who drive them
Cheap teen shows (Hannah Montana, HSM, and other cheap crap run by skanks like Cyrus)
Gangsta rap (I love political rap and similar, but gangsta gets on my nerves - just B****ez, H*ez, and N***az)
Most modern TV, especially Jersey Shore and all that cheap reality shows that show trashy people being trashy people (Hardcore Pawn, Operation Repo, Storage Wars, and others like it)

I definitely know where you're coming from here! On the TV shows: Don't you also notice that all the networks copy off each other as well? The only time I watch TV is at my friends' houses and even then, I've noticed that National Geographic, Discovery and the History Channel all have pretty much the same shows. Pawn/auction shows, wildlife officer shows, restoration shows, and the like. Two of the channels even had these shows about people who referred to themselves as "preppers" (I hate that term), but Discovery had to drop theirs on account it was all such a fraud. I have an extensive knowledge of the effects of WMDs and bunkers, and I could tell that 99% of these people were far off the mark.
The fandom thing is so prevalent on YT, where people (usually perverted 14-year-olds) write some pretty freaky s**t. War-related video-game fandom is just as irksome. It never ceases to amaze me how much these kids think they know about warefare and weapons, but when confronted with real facts, go crying about how you're a "troll." No, I'm not a troll, I just happen to know the difference between a FAMAS G2 and a Steyr AUG A1. These people can't even tell the difference between a Galil and an AK-47 .

Girls using the "duck lip" technique on their Facebook pictures to make their lips look bigger when really, you just look lame!

I would have loved those when I was a teenager. Now I prefer my clothes loose and comfortable.

I won't mind wearing one if they're like dark metallic black and if I was 20 pounds lighter.
Some people wear these despite these not being flattering to their body shape

I was under the impression all "fads" were stupid, that's why they're fads.

Didn't they make a Pinky and The Brain episode about pants like this?

Is Jeff Koons the designer?

I haven't seen those around here...yet. You can get black leather look ones, and ones in funny patterns (god awful colours though).

On a semi related note I bought my second pair of "jeggings" today :P

Reality TV
Badly Made Documentaries
'Celebrities' that no-one has heard of
Fake sweaty fabrics in clothes.
Every film having a cheesy romance plot

Bums encased in leggings with nothing else covering them. (I like leggings, as I like the feeling of having something tight and covering against my skin, but I don't wear them without something that covers my bum at least, I nearly always wear them under long skirts!)

Slogan t-shirts that are neither smart nor funny

Brand names plastered all over clothing. This should not be a status sign! The quality (if the clothes have any) should be the sign.

Those fleecy jumpsuit things

Low rise jeans
Game shows that encourage lying, advertisements that make lying out to be acceptable and normal.
Childrens Shows that become brands. I will not be giving any of that to my child when I have one!
Songs about sex, money, and relationships.
Bikinis on small children

I could go on...

Depending on how they fit and how stretchy they are they could be comfortable. I'm not saying they'll look good but they might feel good.

These days at least when I'm home I prefer to wear loose sweat pants or pajama bottoms, preferably fleece but flannel or cotton when it's warm.
