Eating meat will become a personal choice when it affects no one but the person doing it-
no animal death, no environmental devastation, no exacerbation of world food disparities, and no health crises.
Until then, incredulousness at having one's meat-eating criticized is about as rational at declaring those pesky people who oppose your slave-owning or wife-beating "self righteous and high and mighty".

I don't have a problem with people who choose not to eat meat. As long as they don't start having a go at me for choosing to. None the less, I must say I think there are much less tolerable people on this planet than those who advocate the fair treatment of animals, which lets face it, they have a point.
