Bought the Seattle Seahawks new for 2014 scratch ticket powered by Washington's Lottery, and I get $50! (The ticket itself is $5.) Ironically, I wore a San Diego Chargers hat when I bought that ticket.

My parents godchild was visiting us today. She is 1 year old and knows only 4 words: mama, tata, baga (I have no idea what she got it from but she call so any animal she sees) and daba (apparently it is her "daj" = "give").

Well... it ended up I unintentionally teached her a 5th word: Gala. Which is my cats name. We were playing with the cat and I was calling "Gala, come here! Gala!". Then after a few times I was about to call my cat again but the girl was faster: "Gala!" - she called, cat came. She was repeating it a lot since then. I didn't have to call the cat anymore since she was doing it.

Btw, it was the first time we seen each other. I feel praised. Apparently she instantly recognized me as an authority worth to be taken as an example. 8)

I got the new job! I will get to move in with my wife again after a year and a half of being 600 miles apart!

Plus a fat pay raise! And 6 free college credits per semester! And an area where rent is much cheaper!

And my sister used to tell me that physicists can't have it all.

I will be giving up almost 12 years toward a government pension, but since employee benefits have been the go-to for cuts in the federal budget, I'm not entirely convinced it would be around when it comes time anyway.

I found out that I have better social skills than the rest of my family... from a cat's point of view.

^ Doesn't she usually make you unhappy? Well, it's nice to see her mentioned here.

Well done! I'm happy for you.

I survived the three tough weeks at work. Well, they weren't as stressful as I thought they would be. After those three weeks, this weekend feels so nice and relaxing.
