I climbed to the top of a hill in Griffith Park (in Los Angeles) today. I'm not sure if it's mount Hollywood... At any rate, it has this one tree on it that is visible for miles around. I would always see it as I drive home from work and I kept thinking it would be nice to go up there and take some photographs. So of course when the weather is hovering near 100 degrees, I finally decide to climb the stupid hill.

A pair of hikers coming down the hill gave me an extra bottle of water (I had enough, but the extra bottle was nice). Anyway, it was nice to view hot, hazy Los Angeles from a high vantage point.

I went to a sweet 16 party for a friend, and tomorrow I get to go to another one - my own.

cool!! any specific plans?

i remember my 16th. i spent it in italian class...

^ I remember riding my moped on my 16th - it was also a very snowy December, I don't remember crashing.
Happy today to have woken up feeling a bit more like myself, been off colour last 2 or so days.

I am off tomorrow.

I found a sunny spot to sit in and work.

I went for my usual Sunday walk. Spoke briefly to a little old Chinese man along the way (he didn't know what I was saying and vice versa).

Sat under my favourite tree, had a smoke and reached quite a few conclusions about my life to date.

It was rather a successful Sunday, thank you very much.

Talking to a few funny people, and reading a few funny posts...I've been laughing a lot this evening, and have just recovered from a laughing fit.

it was high tide this time.

Tomorrow is eight hours of solid quiet. The television is constantly on otherwise, and it's grating on me. Time to pause, reset, and reboot now...

Feeling slightly better today health wise.

I once met a Japanese tourist in Italy, who was asking me how to get somewhere or other in very broken, almost incomprehensible Italian. I made some attempt to help, in Italian which was of a similarly inept standard. Needless to say, the "conversation" got nowhere. It was only a day or so later that I realized we would probably have been able to understand each other a lot better had one or the other tried speaking in English! I still smile when I think of it.
