If I get a chance, I'm going to a thrift shop in Amarillo tomorrow afternoon.

I rarely make it to Amarillo, but I'm supposed to go pick up my oldest brother tomorrow from where he's been in rehab after a bout of encephalitis. If I have time before he is released, I may run over to a thrift shop that benefits the blind.

I've found some really interesting clothes there before. It's kind of like people looking at them trying to figure out when they were actually in fashion.

Has anyone had a problem with the actual SMELL of the Goodwill? I used to buy clothes there frequently, especially soft sweaters; but they began using some strongly scented detergent / freshener on the clothes, and now I can't be there more than five minutes before I start to feel sick and my vision goes splotchy. The last sweater I bought still smelled like it three washes later, and I donated it back without ever wearing it.

Is this a regional thing, or something all Goodwills are doing now?

Ooh, Value Village/Savers is having a 30% off offer for card holders on Black Friday. All the more reason to go (and am I glad I signed up for that card)!

Does anyone know how to get a voucher for free clothes from Value Village or Goodwill?

Well, I found quite a few things today. A world of savings!

Went to my local Value Village, found a white hockey jersey, but I passed on it because it had some stains on the lower left front. Stains on a white shirt can be a pain in the ass to remove.

I went to a bunch of thrift stores yesterday, hoping to find some locks. I couldn't find a single one. My father got a $2 pair of shoes.

Edit: I also witnessed a couple teasing a disabled worker in one of them. They were pointing out all of the inconsistencies in shoes on the shelf to get her to obsessively fix them.

You can pick up some treasures, as cheap as chips.

You can get some classic electronic equipment, for next to nothing, I love them!

^ I'm not a fan of Macklemore but I do appreciate his popularity and the fact he's keeping Seattle in the spotlight like the Seahawks.

So, on likely will be my last thrifting trip of the year, I found two Minor League Baseball caps. A Pawtucket Red Sox one for $5, and an Appleton Foxes (now the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers) for $2.
