When a news article pops up on your Facebook feed about Keir Starmer forcing digital IDs on everyone and you brush it off as fake news due to finding it on Facebook, a site renowned for spewing out false news on your feed - but then you find out that it is NOT fake news at all and it's now the top item of discussion everywhere.

This is why I hate when people tell me that so much news you read on the internet is fake, because it isn't always, so that is why I usually assume everything I read is real until proven otherwise.

The Bee Network bus app

It's more interested in trying to force me to take a survey than giving me the information I need

This is flipping well not on!
And it is what has peeved me this morning

ADHD pet peeve:

When someone can't think of a simple word of something and pauses for ages trying to think of it and you already know what it is but you don't want to say because you know they'll go like "oh, yes, that was the word, oh I'm so glad you knew what it was..." JUST GET TO THE POINT OF WHAT YOU WERE SAYING!! !

When you watch a YouTube video and it doesn't have any sound, but the sound isn't muted on the video or your phone, and nobody in the most recent comments are asking where the sound is, and it doesn't disclaim in the description that the sound is disabled, and you can tell it's supposed to have sound, so you're like "wha??"

"you should". Unsolicited advice, often from rodents that don't even understand the situation

"You need to". Rude and condescending front end supervisor Angela w (rolls eyes)(puke)

People. The Kinks song, Rats isn't really about rats. It's about people and I can see why they recorded it.

My housing association has decided, unasked, to remove the concrete grills from our “sechoires” (a balcony for drying clothes) and got started on mine without any warning (probably a breach of the law right there?). As usual, they’ve decided its a good opportunity to have someone nose around in my apartment (which is a mess; they only need to ask me and I’ll admit as much) so of course there’s a law for it. They mandate that the balcony must be cleared of all effects, which wouldn’t bother me if the doors hadn’t been buried in sundry goods, that would take hours to reorganize, given how little space I’ve got) but they also insist it must be clean. So they can take their disk cutters to the concrete to chop it up into little bits? Imagine how much dust that’s going to create!

If I can’t clean it up, they threatened to engage an outside company to do it for me (at my expense, natch) when all that needs to be done is to lift it out (If needed) through the hole they are going to create, to their external elevator from which the work is done. That any such is needed is dubious, as all the work, as far as I can see,, including the new brick work (I don’t know yet whether they intend to fit a window) can be done from the outside, leaving one to wonder why they need any access to it at all? Even if it’s a genuine need, all they need do is fold up the ancient clothes dryer, and move the two plastic sacks on the floor (content long since forgotten) but no, rules is rules, and they can’t (?) do the work until my balcony is empty and spotless.

I off course will make every objection I can think of (my time is free, theirs has to be paid for) and string it out as long as possible, and explore possibilities like climbing their elevator some evening (no doubt illegal) to lift out my bags and drier, but it won’t be a pleasant experience; such bureaucrats simply can’t understand the notion that “rules are for the guidance of wise men etc.”).

They advertise themselves as the “creators of comfort” which is pure fantasy; what they are is “creators of pointless difficulties”!

Americans being clueless about Thanksgiving in Canada being in October and not November, or thinking that we "copied" our Thanksgiving from their own when the first Canadian Thanksgiving was earlier by almost half a century.

Murrricans not only live in ignorance about Columbus Day, but think they had the first Thanksgiving ever. Of course, Native Americans only really had Thanksgiving once. :(

Requiring me to send money over paypal instead of just putting it directly in one's bank account. Arg. (If wondering, all one needs is the person's name & address on the account. One does not need any account number to deposit money. They may ask (or I'll offer) to copy one's id. Some banks find this weird, but I'm helping to keep the tellers employed too.)

Parents yelling at their autistic children for having meltdowns that they can't control. Parents who abuse their autistic children for stimming or having bathroom accidents. It's 2025 Deary, not 1955. Parents should not be still abusing their children for any reason whether they have a disability, or not.
