All living creatures will be wiped out by a very fatal and contageous superplague, then the earth will heal and get better instead of being destroyed, and if possible life can evolve again from the beginning.

No way. The earth does not have enough mass to crunch its matter and cause a fusion reaction.

Yes way. We're not talking about the end of mankind but the end of the world/earth itself some mega trillion light years from now. We don't have mega volcanic eruptions for nothing. It's a possible evolutionary conclusion. The earth could ultimately become a sun or star.

Ruveyn is right. The lower limit for initiating fusion by gravity is several thousand times the mass of the Earth, and that's still only a brown dwarf, hardly a proper star at all.

Basically this.
I predict mankind will leave before this happens.

Assuming we're still around by then, which I find unlikely. Another stage of evolution perhaps, but unlikely there'd still be humans as we are today.

Sarah Palin will take over the world, and aliens will nuke the planet to stop the infection from spreading.

Well, current thinking is leaning towards the Earth being swallowed by the expanding Sun, but I wouldn't be surprised if that changes. It's not as simple as "Sun expands to radius >1 AU = crispy fried Earth", we could end up with a slightly charred Earth circling a cooling and contracting Sun for a long, long time; in which case, I'm not sure that it will ever be destroyed. Perhaps after some ungodly time by expansion or quantum tunnelling or some other silly effect, I dunno. :?:

I guess by world ending I mean burn off the atmosphere and become just another cold empty planet. I think they were saying there was some variable that might save the earth when the sun expands but I can remember what it was, possible the orbit of the earth getting wider due to something or the other. I think humans are toast either way though.

How do you think the World will end?

Not with a bang, but with a whimper.

I have been into the idea of terraforming since I first heard about it.

Let's see:

Personal level: the world ends when my life ends
Civilization level: human industries will eventually collapse (hopefully I'm gone by then), and the only ones spared from the ensuing famines will be the few hunter/gatherer people like the Bushmen.
Ecological level: life on Earth will last as long as the sun

Beyond that, I'm too lazy to speculate 8)

When you or I die, whatever comes first.

To add a note,

The commies didn't forget about us in Oz. :) My state had at least one commie ICBM ready to service its central district (all other decent sized cities had at least one).
