After reading about the camel spider I did the one thing I shouldent do... googled it..... my only respons is: `JESUS TAP DANCING CHIRST IT'S EFFING HUUUUGE!! !! !! !! !! !! !!`

If it is sufficiently large why not roast it? The whole family can have a leg each.

Spiders don't bother me in the least. I just cup them between my hands and release them outside. It does tickle though while they run round and round inside my hands.

camel spider isn't a spider technically.

I like spiders. Like someone posted, they are already living peacefully in you house best ignore them. There reason why they rely on venom is because they a relatively soft skinned and insects have a hard exoskeleton so they would be vulnerable otherwise. They are very humane at dispatching their prey. Most common spider cannot break your skin if they tried.

There is no point putting house spider outside in the garden, because they prefer to live in sheltered places like your house.

Killing spiders just because we see them is very sad. One time I was cutting down a bush and there was this web with an egg in it. I really messed up the web and the mother spider ran to her egg sac and with everything coming apart around her she wrapped her legs around it like a cage to protect it. I caught her and the egg in a jar and set it aside. Later I noticed that she climbed a few feet away, built another web and moved her egg into it which appeared to be no small task. I was very touched by this and see spiders as supremely compassionate. Yes, they have to eat, but we eat other living beings, too. They can't help they were born with eight legs they can't shave.

I personally love spiders I find them amazing in how many different ways they've adapted to live in many different places even underwater.

ooooohhh....yeah! One time I saw this old neglected swimming pool (think miss haversham) it there were gargoyles and moss and stuff - it was so cool. Anyway, the bottom of the pool had wolf spiders all over. I didn't learn until later that they can create a sac around their heads so they can breathe underwater. So neat!

Personally, I would sleep in a different room =/

Why not keep him, as a pet?

I was thinking about how would a spider adapt to a life in little to no gravity. I love to see how creative nature can be.

I love to see stuff like that as long as nothing gets hurt.

I personally find it bizarre to kill something just because it offends your aesthetic sensibilities. I am supposed to kill spiders and destroy their webs during the course of my work day. I usually pretend I don't see them and if I have to destroy their web, I make a silent apology. Yes, I am a weirdo. I will stop and disentangle bugs trapped in old bits of web too. I don't even have a particular love or fascination with insects and spiders either. I understand the panic of phobia though. I am the same way about ticks. I see a tick and my hands start flailing around and I shudder uncontrollably.
