They say a kiwi shears his sheep but he'll never bloody share them!

An Australian ventriloquist visiting New Zealand walks into a small village and sees a local sitting on his porch patting his dog.

He figures he'll have a little fun, so he says to the Kiwi:
"G'day, mind if I talk to your dog?"
Villager: "The dog doesn't talk, you stupid Aussie."
Ventriloquist: "Hello dog, how's it going mate?"
Dog: "Yeah, doin' all right."
Kiwi: (look of extreme shock)
Ventriloquist: "Is this villager your owner?" (pointing at the villager)
Dog: "Yep"
Ventriloquist: "How does he treat you?"
Dog: "Yeah, real good. He walks me twice a day, feeds me great food
and takes me to the lake once a week to play."
Kiwi: (look of utter disbelief)
Ventriloquist: "Mind if I talk to your horse?"
Kiwi: "Uh, the horse doesn't talk either....I think."
Ventriloquist: "Hey horse, how's it going?"
Horse: "Cool"
Kiwi: (absolutely dumbfounded)
Ventriloquist: "Is this your owner?" (Pointing at the villager)
Horse: "Yep"
Ventriloquist: How does he treat you?
Horse: "Pretty good, thanks for asking. He rides me regularly, brushes me down often and
keeps me in the barn to protect me from the elements."
Kiwi: (total look of amazement)
Ventriloquist: "Mind if I talk to your sheep?"
Kiwi: (in a panic) " Don't believe a word he says, that sheep's a bloody liar.."

Cool thread mjs82! That was pretty funny

You don't think they have sheep in other countries? Sheep like people that is. Most law abiding folk he prefer peace and quiet have some sheep like qualities. They do not want to start any trouble and they tend to follow the ones who are nearest to them.

A good research subject is to study to what extent humans have flocking or swarming tendencies and compare human swarm rules with those of birds and fish.

Yeah, sheep are everywhere, but I usually think of it in the negative way. I do agree with your point, too, ruveyn. If the people are provided for, protected from invading forces, etc. they'll usually freely go along with most things - and "provided for" is so subjective. This country is made up of some very disparate groups though. I am stunned that places like Tennessee and NYC are part of the same country. There's conformity in both areas but it is basically diametrically opposed. It almost seems obvious in conjecture how one day, with the disintegration of the US, which is inevitable, how the different regions will break into separate countries.

Sheeple pops to mind. :P

I don't mind farm sheep. It's human sheep that I don't like.

Farm sheep are adorable

which reminds me, Ive got to go out and feed the lambs some silverbeet. I have done their 21 day old wean, and they dont get milk for lunch anymore, so I have been visiting them with silverbeet to make up for it... :)
