How do you see yourself,

You can tell by that language you use to talk about yourself in relation to others, in a 'natural' context.

e.g not deliberately manipulating your language to the other persons,
I suppose 'deliberate' is a point of reference, more what are your 'Floridian' slips.

If the question is "do I consider myself firmly seated in this meat popsicle called a body" then yes. I am centered in this body and refer to myself as "I" and think of myself as "I".

As for all this discussion about what person you put first in sentences... that stuff, I don't understand wtf you're all talking about.

But no, when I talk about myself, I say "I".

Well, do you give you name to someone who knows you as the name that they call you, or as I.


So to my friend Jade who knows me really well, I will still say to her 'can you tell bill that olli says hello'.

I've used the name that she calls me (well in-fact the name that bill would call me), not what I would call myself.

If you asked me my name I would say it's Oliver.
If you where to ask me what to call me, I'd say anything you like.

That really flips some people out.

When I get the I see someone presenting myself to me in an abstract form, telling myself how to work with myself in this abstract form and correcting the way I an working with this abstract form of myself.

The reason for asking is that my more ASD friends all seem to do the third person thing,
my more ADHD type friends the Second person way.
At the people who don't understand me [and usually fit in with the system], the 1st person type way.

My Schizoid friends are more 'me me me' and attach themselves to things.

[though there's quite a bit of bias in that, there usually very thoughtful, but also in a selfish way.
The ones on meds are complete and utter cabbages,
the ones not on meds are usually quite normal apart from a bit of an obsessive interest they've attached themselves to.
The ones I would not say are Schizoid have in-site so they don't fit the diagnosis criteria, some got hospitalized after med rebound, and completely screwed up for a good while.

I have no idea what so ever how I manage to get away talking in the third person so much,
I guess I just practiced a lot, and avoided the un-avoidable.

GMC good medical practice says a Dr should put himself in the third person, so that's not soo much of an issue. (but at the moment the shrink is on some god bothering mission I think)
