Does anyone else have trouble seeing "ugly"?

It's not that I don't see ugly, because I do. It's that I'm able to see past ugly in order to see the beauty.

I can distinguish between what I find to be visually appealing and what I deem as "ugly" very well. However, I have trouble seeing why someone thinks something is visually appealing when I think it's ugly, and vice versa. I don't judge human faces, though... I can think, "Oh, his nose is placed almost perfectly considering the placement of other facial features"... So I analyze them and I can admire them, but I don't feel "attracted", per se, to them.

Yes, all my life. I'm often surprised that people have such strong opinions of some person's "ugliness." I am often mystified by the amount of energy people will put into labelling other people as ugly.

It seems to me that other people often have very narrow ideas of what they find attractive and anyone else who doesn't fall into that narrow scope is deemed "ugly." I'm not like that. Just because someone isn't attractive to me doesn't mean they're "ugly." They're just not attractive to me personally.

poor hygiene is ugly.

I find everybody beautiful aesthetically, it's certain personalities that I find ugly.

I can't see ugly in other people. I can see it in me though, does that count?

I do believe that no individual is ugly. I believe that I do not quite understand the judging of others by their physical appearance since that is a perception of their arrangement of flesh, and not themselves. ^^ I personally believe that all individuals are beautiful.

When I think of an ugly person –((adjective,-li·er, -li·est. very unattractive or unpleasant to look at; offensive to the sense of beauty; displeasing in appearance.)) I think of traits that I would not find pleasurable. Personality also goes along with it, however I've noticed that the more someone is educated the easier a personality can coincide with another. For instance, I wouldn't select a female who has melanocytic naevis (moles), or alot of freckles. I'd also dislike choosing a female who's father is bald, for that genetic composition may be passed down. I'd prefer a medium stocked woman, who also is intelligent and exhibits life skills. I wouldn't choose a smoker, or someone who's an alcoholic because I find those characteristics ugly. She hasto be neat, and organized.. goal oriented, not so much outgoing but down to earth. I'd want a free-thinker, who enjoys life. Either blonde hair Caucasian (not dirty blonde) or Asian. That's about it.. alot of people might say those standards are too high, but I don't think so.. I'm just shaping how I want my descendants to be and those are a few traits I'm selective of. Theirs many African, or Hispanic woman who are attractive .. I just find Asian and Caucasian more desirable.

I notice if a person is unattractive, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that that person is ugly. "Ugly" is such a strong word for me. Also, I personally believe that everybody has the potential to be attractive if they just took better care of themselves.

I like weird faces and old, wrinkly people aren't what I call hot, but fascinating to look at. Ugly is a state of mind.
