And that's another category. Most beliefs look odd to the outsider, and how many of us take the time to find out why? (Both why they are believed, and why they look odd!)

But to avoid too much harmony it is necessary to note that not all ideas are equal, even if we must so deem the individuals holding them.
There are good ideas and bad ones in dentistry, and so for philosophy, theology and religion. I cannot hold these areas somehow immune from critique, as although a bad dentist may do immediate pain and harm, metaphysical bad practice may in the long term be more damaging.
