I offered Jesus a partnership.

I told him that if he would help me win the lottery then I would give half the money to the church.

He didn't bother to reply. :(

If I want to hear about Religion, I'll go looking for it

... and then PPR is definitely a place where hearing about religion could be found.

In time meantime, however, and with that in mind, why did you click on this topic, eh?!

This thread is here in Random Discussion (rather than PPR) because it was *not* begun as a debate (as is typical in PPR).

It's because.....deep down inside myself....I WANT TO BELIEVE!! !

This one thread is ok but no more. WP isn't bible camp.

Is that an administrative decision?!

I think we are all aware everything is "open game" here, and that censorship is not part of the game plan.

W O R D !

Why is it that every brand of nonsense but Christianity is deemed worthy of toleration?

If we can have threads on astrology, reincarnation and links to despicable, hate-filled, inflammatory New World Order/Illuminati propaganda, we should allow this stuff too.

Sure, but then the question is whether it can/must all be shoved over into a corner ...

... and I happen to see that as non-civil censorship ...

... and yet at the same time, a right to speak does not guarantee no eggs will be thrown inside the coop.

I think that there is a thin line between preaching and stating. Maybe I misread or read into something that was not there for the OP.
Just the thought that it "may have said" to "Read the word of Gd and connect with him and your health and state of mind will be so much better for it". It is like being told to eat icecream, if you don't....sorry I am stealing analogies.
I think you will get where I am coming from though ;)

A preacher I once knew had a small placard visible only to him in the pulpit, and it read:

"What are you trying to do to these people?"

I used to have a slightly different plaque on my wall:

"Preach the gospel at all times ... using words only when absolutely necessary."

I really don't want to pick a fight with the moderator but,

Please allow me to civilly disagree with you. This thread should be in PPR. It seems I am not the only one with this thought.

No problem, I understand why many people feel that way. However, try to consider the history of PPR:

Hot debates were pushed off to their own corner of WP know as PPR, but not necessarily the specific topics. So, and just like with other "autism and ..." threads we see in various places, it could be argued that "autism and religion" also fits right in along with other threads in Autism Discussion.

In the case of this particular thread, I moved it to Random Discussion out of respect to those who might not want it in Autism Discussion, and I moved it to here rather than to PPR because it did not appear to be intended to stir heated debate.

Now of course, many people know a thread can get moved to PPR just because it gets hot even if it is not actually about politics, religion or philosophy ... and so I have been intentionally trying to help keep this one cool.

Personally, I doubt many people are going to start threads about religion in very many places other than PPR here on WP, but that does not mean it is right to let all such people be bullied over into PPR where other posters might not want to go at all.

I do not happen to be a pluralist, but here is a good opportunity for multi-culturists to practice a bit of tolerance.

Actions rather than words? I can appreciate that. Good actions and behaviours are always appreciated and regardless of denomination the heart of a person is what counts.

You're a christian???

Christians can copy and paste random stuff to try to get a raise out of people too... I mean, they shouldn't - like I probably shouldn't be posting a snarky comment - but they do - like I am.
