When I was a child I used to like anything that SPINS.

The washing machine, the dryer, and the record player. I would often listen to records, and focus myself on the record spinning.

I used to do that rather frequently when I was a wee kid.
It's just fascinating how it would spin and spin and spin and the clothes end up so clean.

In the US, the most common washer you'd see are top loaders. It was only until recently that you'd see side loaders here in the US. For some related trivia, I had interests and collections related to laundry. I liked washing machine discharge hoses and dryer ducting and vents. I also had a collection of laundry detergents which included bleach, laundry detergent, fabric softener, and dryer sheets when I was a kid. I also loved going to the laundromat and getting the boxes of single use detergents and fabric softener. Even recently when my ex girlfriend took her laundry to the laundromat, I had to get some single use boxes from the vending machine. :)

They're not washers, they're portals into another dimension.

Look too much and they'll pull your soul in along with that odd sock, to be lost for ever 'n' ever... 8O

I find them very hypnotic. I must be at the other end of the dimension because I keep finding the odd black sock that I'd never put in. :? Why do they always appear when there is white washing in there too and I get a pale grey looking (white) bra. :x

I do, but never have the time to zone out to it anymore. My washer and dryer are in the garage and I refuse to leave my kids unsupervised that long.
