I don't understand the idea of that expression, but I could guess from the song, that it means the intent to pick a fight... As in when two men become aggressive toward each other, one will yank the shirt off as to challenge the other into a physical fight. I've never done that, but I take mine off sometimes to show off my bodybuilding efforts
