Cartoons: WHY exactly do we stop watching them?

In our society, anyone percieved as childish in some way is thought of as weak. This is the reason why. Associating with something percieved as childish makes you seem hard to take seriously or to count upon. :roll:

Yeah, I've never stopped. I watch MLP:FiM, Invader Zim, Ren and stimpy, animaniacs, and all of the oldskool cartoons (looney tunes, top cat etc) and I'm 16. I don't give a crap about what others think, it more or less stops me from becoming depressed.

I actually stopped watching cartoons years ago (with the exception of seeing some episodes of Futuruma, an adult cartoon some months ago). I don't know it is just not interesting anymore for me. It's like when I stopped reading those children's books with pictures and moved on to reading adult books (I am 17 btw). I don't know why for every one it's different and I don't mind adults watching cartoons.

That final one being my favorite with all the hidden jokes and 80's references.
Plus, the episode parodying tabletop RPG's appealed to the DnD nerd in me very much. Cyborg cowboys in hypersleep Q3Q.

Most of the cartoons I watch nowadays are adult type ones like Family Guy. The only kiddie one I watch is Spongebob or cartoon Disney movies.

I don't think Spongebob is appropriate for the little kids that it's marketed towards but other shows on Nickelodeon have adult humor & stuff in em to. That wouldn't of been allowed on Nick when I was a kid.
