Yes. I don't like text-speak because I am bothered by incorrect spelling and grammar. Also, I don't text, so I am not always familiar with the abbreviations and their meanings.

I have a habit of correcting people, but I've learned this is not an endearing trait. I try to curb this impulse to correct by taking a deep breath and focusing instead on the content of what the person is saying.

It bothers me a bit. It's like they're saying "Hey, I'm too lazy to spell things correctly, I don't care about grammar and punctuation and whatever schools teach these days. I just wanna party, get drunk and totally screw up my life."

And can someone explain why girls think it's cute to add 10 extra letters to words? Girls on FB are usually writing "heyyyy 'supp ;))" or "u doiin annythin tonitee? we shold hanng ouut!! !!" and I want to throw a dictionary at their face and send them back to grade 2.

Yeah that is stupid language. Spell the word with the correct letters except for words like thanx but only use thanx on the internet not in your papers.

it does and a lot. If you're to talk to me and have a full keyboard to do so at minimum try and write everything right. Or is that too much effort?

I don't type like that to save a couple key-stokes; I do it to use the tween/teen lingo. They think I'm AWES0ME :geek: :king:

For 2, that is annoying but sometimes it is important to because you need to shorten it down. But the worst is when it has 0 grammar...observe

Example 1...acceptable....Whas up, r u, going to the movies today?

Exmaple 2...annoying.....W up, r u go 2 mve day?

A little bit is tolerable...the whole thing, bleh.

Are you talking about that Vally Gurl talk? I typed that for a while when I decided to quit spelling words wrong on purpose. Like anyone here actually cares but what-ever
