My brother's fiancee is from Oaxaca. Over there they eat chapulines. They're kind of crunchy, salty raisins.

I would never eat insects. For one, I am a vegetarian and I don't eat any animals. Even if I did eat meat though, I don't think I could do it intentionally (I am not talking about accidental things that the majority of people don't even realize). I think I would be too disgusted by it, even though there are a few bugs that are alive that I like to look at. I am a very picky eater when it comes to things like that.

My great-grandfather, on the other hand, used to indulge in chocolate-covered ants!

I used to up until age seven when my mom found out and stopped me.

I particularly liked grasshoppers.

I find them gross now, but I would eat them if I had to.

'Any words in an oval demand attention. The yellow oval on this can says "High Protein - Great side dish when drinking alcohol." I imagine this came from the silkworm marketing team when faced with the nagging question "Who the f**k's gonna eat this?!" The answer: DRUNKS!'

I'd feel too mean just randomly eating an insect. Stepping on snails makes me feel guilty for ages, so I don't think I'd do it.

The 'I'm eating an insect now' option did make me laugh a bit, though.

I've eaten ants and locusts as well as a rather big yellow worm.

Ants (abdomen only, roasted) taste like beef that is just about to become crispy black. A delicacy in my homeland. You can buy some from Thinkgeek too :D -

Locust (abdomen only, sauteed) tastes like grape leaf with a dash of egg yolk and beef. Its rather yummy.
Big yellow worm I forget the name (its a common food in SE asia) tasted like egg yolk and fish. Its really good.
