Eh, they've been letting off fireworks the week up to Christmas. I just turn my music up.

I'm debating whether I want to watch Sanctuary or not. I really don't want to witness Amanda Tapping singing.

But most of the night I've been playing this:

Usually I don't have sensory issues with new years eve, except I don't like family kisses and hugs and I don't like feeling alone. I don't like parties either, so I'm a bit contradicting myself here. :)

This year I've given in myself to the prompting of my sister and mother, and will go to a party tonight... They've convinced me by saying there will be a girl with BPD. :D

So, Happy New Year to everyone!

I do like big celebrations because you can actually get away with being a bit silly at the time, but I don't like the social gathering you have to endure beforehand. Also I feel overwhelmed still being up after midnight (not sure why).

But I used to love new year's eve gatherings when I was a child. I remember I went to a big family get-together at my uncles, and all of my cousins were there (who were all children too), and I don't remember feeling overwhelmed at all. We used to bring toys down what we had got for Christmas, and play games like Charades, and put music on and dance to it, and just muck about. It was fun.

I remember celebrating the year 2000. I was 10 then, and when 12 o'clock came, everyone went mad, and we popped party-poppers for about 10 minutes after 12 o'clock, then ran outside to watch fireworks, and it was amazing. My 4-year-old cousin was overwhelmed though, she didn't like the noise and my aunt had to take her upstairs to bed (she's 16 now and is going to a big party tonight. No - she's not on the spectrum).
