It's so hot!

It's warmer where I live too (southern Ohio). It is March and this week was in the 70s, and next week is supposed to be in the 70s too. One day this week hit 80. Our winter was the mildest I can remember.

it's 40-ish, gusty and wet here. but i much prefer this to what the OP is suffering through.

Yeah it's been hot for March here, too. 75 - 80 degrees F and so @#$%#%^#$ humid that it's bothering my asthma already. It didn't help that the caretaker insisted on steam cleaning the carpeting in the hallways and public areas of the building today, either. We usually still have cold and snowstorms here this time of year. I don't really buy into the whole global warming thing, though. We've had a really mild winter for Minnesota, so I think Spring / Summer will be here earlier than usual.

It's pretty warm already where I live, and I'm loving it!

It's not usual in Louisiana. We jump from winter to summer without having a spring & we jump back to winter for a couple days & then back to summer

It's insane. I don't ever recall a March this warm here in Michigan. This is the first time I've EVER seen the daffodils opening before the first day of spring. The winter was so mild the sprouts were already appearing under the melting snow piles two weeks ago.

A lot of people are enjoying the record-breaking weather but there's a big down side to it as well. For one the blossoms on all the fruit trees are wide open now and the entire fruit crop will be finished if we get a hard freeze in April. Going from 80F to 25F and then back again might be normal for some place like Denver but Michigan isn't supposed to be that extreme. It's gonna kill the fruit farmers.

Then there's the increased risk for destructive hail and tornadoes which have already hit the eastern part of the state. If the pattern keeps up I'm worried there could be more tornadoes in April and May for the upper Midwest. That stuff normally stays well to the south but with the jet stream so far north it could be bad for Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan this year.

^I'm worried about drought. We haven't had any rain or snow.

if you moved to puget sound washington you likely would never have any drought worries.

^Yeah I hear it rains a lot over there. It's me poor plants I'm worried about. Don't reckon many will make it on this clay of soil.

local yearly rainfall amounts average 16 inches in sequim, washington [in the olympic mountain rain shadow] to over 100 inches near mt. rainier [lots of snow]. the average average is roughly 45 inches over most of western washington. flooding is our problem here.

I wouldn't have it any other way.

Despite annoying periods of cool cloudy weather and sprinkles (annoying if you like actual summer weather that is) it doesn't really rain enough in June, July, or August to support many plants in western WA. At least not without some irrigation. The vast majority of the rain occurs in the fall, winter, and spring. If you go away for more than a couple weeks during the summer months your plants will probably croak. That's been my experience with living in the NW.

I've already started to sleep with the fan on. Although we had nice weather this weekend. Probably the last of this winter.

Wednesday and Thursday it's going to be 80 degrees here. This is not right. I live in New York and it is March.

I am so worried about my rats. Rats don't like the heat, especially the big fat ones. I had some die of heatstroke once and I'm so scared that that will happen again.

I need to have my air conditioner put in tomorrow. I don't know how well it will work now. I live in a bigger place.
