Why don't you do an exchange thing, so you can see how you feel there? Stay there for a month, and then have that person stay with you for a month.

You should move to The Netherlands. Everyone speaks English there, and it's a pretty friendly country. Dutch people are usually party animals (not to be stereotypical, but a lot of you are. You're the land of Hardstyle :P) so it's full of laid back people.

One problem, this assuming though that I am working online. If you are, lets say, earning 1,000+ a month (hard to live on here in the US), and have expenses of less than $400 dollars, then I can have 600 dollars to invest, which if I invest in dividend rich stocks, may eventually pay for my expenses. Then you can build real wealth, and not just pseudo-wealth, based on debt and working you brains out. The way to wealth is to develop systems that work for themselves, and you collect the pay check. If you can do this, you are golden. I did not say perfect. But it beats having to break your back just so you can enjoy two days off on the weekend, if you are lucky. But anyways that is for another post. I also have contingency plans if things hit the fan for some reason. Also, other people have moved overseas for higher quality of life. The maker of Google Sniper training course resides in Thailand, the founder of Mcaffee (sorry for name butchering) is living in Belize with his 17 year old gf. So there is precedence.

Now in regards to cost of living, Eastern Europe has some low rates, as does the Philippines, South East Asia, Africa, and India. Now obviously some of those on the list have serious flaws, but others have only minor flaws, which are being fixed as we speak. Let the data speak for itself. Check out this for ideas on cost of living:Numbeo Price of Living Index

Should one look at exchange rates?

For example I hear Japan is in a deflationary spiral for years. Would moving there give one enormous purchasing power after converting currency?

The problem with Japan is that there is not enough liquidity, so the money they do have becomes more valuable. And the stocks I am thinking about have a global footprint, so the are not entirely based on Japanese performance. In addition, I buy mostly for the dividends, and they have the balance sheet to back them up. But I do agree if they are domestic only co.s, they are not the best to invest in.

I'm seriously considering moving to Dominica, (NOT to be confused with the Dominican Republic) Its a small Island in the lesser antilies, and it seems quiet rad. I'd live in the capital, Roseau.

Here's the wiki page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominica

Basically I've never lived abroad so it would be the expieriance of a lifetime for me, I'm shure It would take getting some use to but I'm up for this challenege because, well, where I live now is just not working out. :?

I don't know your specific situation, so this is a thought. I hear Southeast Asia is good (if climate and cost is a concern). But keep in mind that there are other challenges, like in Thailand there is a lot of racism and nativism. Otherwise the prices and climate are a plus. Just some other options to check. Also check out happier abroad, even though it is mostly global dating, it might offer ome good insight on global living.

I think you would be better off taking the short trip across the border to Ontario (but don't stop until you reach at least Toronto :) )

By almost any measure, you'd be doing well there. The only thing it's really missing is the "different experience" factor. Canada is still a different experience, while a lot of surface things are the same as they are in the US people are coming from a different mindset; it's just obviously not as different as Macedonia. If your goal is "different", by all means do something random like Macedonia.

If I were to move to another country my best bet would be Vancouver B.C. Canada.

before you go, make sure you have a spotless criminal/civil record, a high net worth of at least $500k, blood relations in-country, no major diseases/mental issues, and a university degree "useful to canada."

They are picky, but that's exaggerating a bit.

I am considering moving to Canada, you can still move there even with a criminal record if you petition the government for a pardon, as long as you're not like an axe murderer or something. You don't need relatives there, though it does help. As far as a university degree, that's not necessarily true, Canada has a need for a lot of blue collar kind of jobs that are short in coming.

I wouldn't know about Eastern Europe, but personally, if I was American, I'd leave the country as fast as I could.

If I was born in the US my first word would be "OUT!"
It's not my first choice of residences. Although I wouldn't mind visiting just to try out the different foods and also finally learn the meanings behind so many pop culture references I see online and on TV. If I had the money I would holiday there.

Well, if you like being in a country where human rights are massacred in the name of corporations, you can stay in the US. Funny they promoted democracy in the Gulf, especially with bombs and drones, while they are not really a democracy.

Europe isn't getting better either. You'll live longer there though, as food is healthier, environmental laws are stricter for you not to drink chemicals in your tap water (most European countries forbid searching of Shale Gas), food is better, people are smarter and more open-minded (high percentage of atheists, most people think creationism is rubbish). Society is less divided than in the U.S. (but still too much in my opinion, humankind shouldn't be divided since it's the same species. It should act in its own collective interest)

Oh, and that's my opinion. Don't be offended if you don't agree with, I just want to share it with you.

You guys keep saying that like the United States are the circles of hell. It's not that bad, and you can make a lot more money here if that's what you're trying to do. Don't live in a red state. There are places right around London where I would never want to live (e.g. Hatfield).
