I don't know why I failed to mention it but I made the front page of a newspaper by winning a spelling bee when I was 11

I invented the first analog LCD bar-graph display back in the 1980's. It used a 32-bit shift register, a comparator, and an active rectifier.

Nowadays, just about every high-end LCD meter has one.

I am descended on my mother's side, from Irish kings of old: The medieval Connacht family, the O'Kellys of Uí Maine.

(My uncle in Ireland, was once Mayor of an Irish town.)

I know it's not much of a claim to fame...

Not really, I did get on the front page of my local newspaper. I was doing something silly, and didn't realize it was for the local paper.
