In 1921, Harding was inaugurated, FDR got polio, and Franz Joseph's successor as Austrian Emperor, Karl I, died.

Also, former US President William Howard Taft is appointed Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Taft is the only man to head the Executive and Judicial branches of the US government. Taft also holds another US government record with 92 chairs broken by his fat behind. No other government official has even half that number.

In 1923, Harding kicked the bucket.

And in 3290 BC, Milgerdu of Ur won the 3290 Ziggurat Building Championships.

And the proper spelling is "A historical fact," not "An historical fact." You're not French.

In 1924, both Woodrow Wilson and Vladimir Lenin died. At his funeral, there were a thousand jokes made about how "Woody" and the condition of rigor mortis.

At the 1924 Democratic National Convention at Madison Square Garden in New York, FDR nominated New York Governor Al Smith for President, calling him the "Happy Warrior." The Happy Warrior lost the nomination to the Racist Warrior, John W. Davis of West Virginia.

My postcount date: 1713.

One fact Wikipedia says happened on this year:

The First Orrery was built by George Graham.

If you don't know what one is go to the link:

In 1713, King Frederick I of Prussia died, and his son Frederick William, the martial-minded "Sergeant-King," succeeded to the throne.

Also, in 1713, the War of the Spanish Succession ended.

In 1925, the first official Majority Leader of the US Senate, Republican Charles Curtis of Kansas, rose to the post. Curtis would later become Vice Preseident of the United States under Herbert Hoover, in the famed "Alliteration Administration."
