You have contributed well to this site since you came here.

I'm sure I don't speak for myself when I say that either.

Same.

I find glitches every place on the net/web. I just look at the glitches as an opportunity to work on my patience issues. It helps in developing the inner me. And maybe sometimes the glitches can be a good thing in that they may allow me to "cool off" before I respond to something. I am happy to have a place to express myself, even if I can be a bit much sometimes for the eyeballs of those reading my walls of text.

Hopefully this is posted properly and you can read it. I don't think you should leave just because of the glitches. I mean it is technically very crappy and those error messages get annoying (There is a 50% chance I am going to see one after I post this) but it seems a bit much to leave permanently just because of it. If you do go though, I'll miss you. Goodbye.

Neither the moderators nor site admins (Me and Cornflake) can do anything about the site problems. Only Alex has access to the site software to fix the problems. The site is gradually dying through his neglect. Unfortunately much of the code for the site is poorly written and unstable so tweaks and changes can have unpredictable effects and further destabilise it. Alex said a new version of the site software is under development by an external software company but that was some time ago and frankly I'll believe it when I see it. That isn't to say it won't happen but ...

In the meantime the site problems are likely to gradually get worse and worse. The big problem is the huge number of posts in the site's database and there are too many users accessing the database. The server cannot cope with the load. Alex has done some things to improve the situation e.g. by using a faster (more expensive) server and also caching the pages via CloudFlare but even those actions aren't a fix and the site continues in its downward spiral as the database increases in size.

I really hope Alex / the software developers get their fingers out and get the new site software finished and up and running; because sooner or later I can see the site collapsing under the load or more members leaving due to all the ongoing faults and error messages. At this rate the users will have migrated to other autism / Asperger's forums before the new site software is ready. Assuming it ever will become ready - I've got doubts.

Okay, that appeased me. idk maybe I was thinking if I complain loud enough they will do something. Of course now I know there is no they to do anything about it and they are in the same boat as everyone else. In the heat of the moment I really did plan on not logging back on.

This is the 2nd time I've been dumb and done a goodbye thread. The other time was in my other forum because I was falling behind in school. I feel stupid and also guilty because it feels like I'm getting people to say they like me.

Anyways sorry for the meltdown.

Don't feel bad about having done a goodbye thread. Many currently on WP, including some of us who responded to this thread have done the same. I know I have. Generally I think its a matter of just getting past a strong or emotional response and then approaching it fresh. I would guess nearly everyone has bad periods or gets upset about something here eventually.

Welcome back! I do that kind of thing too: get frustrated and write something / someone off, then later with a cooler head reconsider it.

I have been equally frustrated, however, I have to say I've been using the site tonight for over an hour and had no trouble.

I hope I haven't spoken too soon. :o

The only glitches I've noticed are posts not going through when I hit the submit button.

(AND no fair deciding to stay after saying yer leaving.)

Don't worry about it, really. This is the sort of thing I would do, actually.

Well you know it was a bunch of things that had piled up other than just some WP down time I was experiencing, but that's where I focused my anger. You all are really cool and I would miss you all too much to just leave like that. You all are worth whatever probs this site has :)

Thanks admins for updating us on this, I would think the potential ad revenue alone of this site would be enough to make the updating and maintaining of this site a priority. This site was really the first the game and that advantage will never be available again so its important that it stays in good shape.
