Oh thank goodness!

I have two cats and a rabbit myself so I do know how scary it is when something happens to our furbabies! Especially as you said he is your only friend. My kitties & bunny are my only company most of the time as my roommate is hardly here much. If I didn't have them to keep me company and sit on my lap purring and snuggle with in bed I think I'd go starkraving mad - or at least talk to myself alot more than I do already

What kind of dog is he?

I would have said try to induce vomiting, but if it's already been several hours and he is not acting sick, then he should be fine. Maybe still look up how to induce vomiting in dogs in case anything like this ever happens again though.

First off; I'm glad that everything appears to be okay at this point and that your dog seems to be fine.
Secondly, you really really need to have a local 24 hour emergency vet on tap starting now and contact them first if anything like this happens again. Too much time was wasted posting this in an autistic forum and the next time you might not be so lucky.

As mentioned this is not the best place to deal with that kind of emergency. Try contacting a vet by phone next time and if you can't get one, then bring the dog in. I do understand about having difficulty decision making, and that it is expensive. But you gotta do what you gotta do when it comes to your pets health and safety. Better to feel bad for over-reacting then under-reacting.

I still think you should contact vet by phone at least and get their suggestion.

Here is something that is required to be published for all chemicals and substances. Its called a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and there is one made for everything. Most are available online. They are like the long form of safety information about things. This is one for that glucose stuff:

After reading it I would say it is not acutely poisonous, but does mention it can cause choking, vomiting or nausea and says seek medical attention if ingested. It sounds like your dog is doing well and that is very good, but please do follow up and talk with a vet about it. There are things we average people do not know, and vets do, and there may be something that needs to be done.
