Donate most of it, invest some of it, keep a little bit.

Convert it to £s first.

Then, buy a new house for the 5 of us (my mum, and 1 brother, and 2 sisters, mum and dad are divorced). A nice 6 bedroomed mansion.

Then, Buy all the stuff I've always wanted to buy.

Start a computer shop with £300,000 of it, then make it into a chain of stores over time. I would set aside £300,000 for a good house, and £80k for a luxury car. Black Mercedes *drools*

Put half in an investment account with decent interest.

Make sure my folks & family had a financial security blanket.

Then hedonism would reign supreme for as long as the wallet allowed

I'd commission a narrowboat with all the features that I wanted: a 60' boat with a WhispenGen unit, solar panels and a wind generator, an old fashioned diesel engine for propulsion and a nice coal-burning stove for heat in the wintertime. It would have a cruiser-style stern and sleeping space for at least 3 people and one cat. The interior would be snug and friendly with lots of clever storage spaces.

The boat would cost no more than £130,000. I'd also need a residential mooring which would probably cost around £3,000 a year. Wherever I was moored, I'd work part time or as a temp, doing non-stressful jobs and getting to know the people and the area. Ideally I'd work in the wintertime and then reduce my working hours as the sunshine increased, taking June, July and September off work completely to go touring around the canals with my friends and family. August I'm unsure about - the canals are clogged with holidaymakers during the school holidays, but on the other hand the weather is nice. I think August would probably be spent lying on the roof sunbathing!

I would aim to lead a simple but rewarding life with lots of flexibility, so that I could work if needed, or help out my friends, or go travelling about. I would take the time to get to know places really well and to develop my skills in handling and repairing the boat. If i found that I was earning more than I needed, I would give some of it away to charities in my area.

I would buy a flat, and put the remainder in a term deposit until I finish my phd. after that, it would depend on my job prospects and so on.
If it were 10 million, though, I would quit my phd and live off the interest.

change the money into pound sterling and put half into a savings account (live off interest) and use the other half to get a decent house and contents (fill it with gadgets)

Invest it

Use some of it to set up a Trap/Spay/Neuter Release program for feral cats.

Donate some to my local Humane Society

The million I already have or my next million?

I'd get an awesome car for mum with it. I'd make sure it's fast, too.

No assload of videogames?

Invest some, pay off all the debts of my mom (not much anyway, just her house) and my brother. He has just gone through a nasty divorce and is trying to get full custody of the kids. His ex-wife is a drug addict and seriously messed up. I would pay for a private tutor for my kids so they can be homeschooled. I know, all very boring. The rest I would go shopping with, fix up the house and set up accounts for the kids.

I would finally move to New Zealand!

I would buy a million lottery tickets.

Cure autism... Just kidding.

I'd buy a second house in the Czech Republic and use the rest to travel back and forth.

I would also travel to Bohemia. I'd pay with traveller's Czechs, of course.
