Why are you turning your back to the left? I though you were a leftist? :)

On my side. Not one side in particular. Just the side that doesn't hurt, somebody landed on my ribs years ago and it's never stopped hurting.

I prefer to sleep on my stomach, but as I've gotten older it's not as comfortable as it was when I was a kid (so I frequently sleep on my sides as well). I wish I could have one of those beds they massage you on to sleep on, with a hole near the head end so I could breathe properly without straining my neck. No masseur though, I don't want anyone touching me.

stomach, back, side, usually in the hangmans position (one ankle propped behind the knee of the other)-

I've been known to sleep upside down during times of insomnia or distress-draped off the back rest of a couch, under piles of clothes, in closets when I was younger; cupboards, shelves, behind dresser drawers, on top of things. (shhhhh bathtub). I also manage to sleep standing up if totally exausted.

Currently I sleep on a camp cot, restricting my movement (and keeping my room cleaner). But I keep the regular mattress in another room for those 'I need to sleep on a regular bed' nights. I sleep like I eat; it is really just a neccesary function-no whooplah involved. Almost always with the heater to capacity. I think I am simulating the womb. I can't STAND to be cold while sleeping. Not even a tiny bit.

I classify myself as a funky sleeper-er sleep freak. Sleep is awesome and can be taken anywhere :-)

I fall asleep on one side or the other, but always seem to wake up on my back.

Exactly how do you manage that?

I would rather like to know that myself.

Left side for an hour...or a little less....than the right side....then the left....then the right.

Basically, I keep shuffling right and left side throughout the night. :)
