Ok. To sum this up.Love an Obsession are the same. if you are obsessed with something, youare in love with it. unless it's a person. If you start going out with the person your obsessed with it's love.

So basically youcould say "i'm obsessed with you." instead of i love you? but then that would be creepy, right?

ok. lol. But I still don't get this: If your obsessed and the other isn't is that love? I mean if you aren't even going out with them and are just really obsessed and not a stalker? Is it love or just obsession?

Love requires both parties share feelings for each other.

Otherwise it's a crush.

Ok... but two people can have crushes on each other and then date. and still have crushes on each other. Love is a deeper form of crush.solater they fall in love right?

Wouldn't weird me out. But Flagg believes that all we have to go by is these observable chemical reactions. There is neither a spiritual component to his view, nor is there the possibility that there are other undefined elements (which may be observable at some later point).

I'll just go with the idea that we are in love with our obsessions. And that once you start dating your obsession it'slove or something...even though you could fallin love before hand right? befoe going out with them. (gets the feeling she's being annoying)

If you do that, you cut out the whole stalker/crush issue. Frankly though, there are different feelings when the object of your affection (animate or not) is returning feelings to you. This I would view as different from just an obsession. Seems too much to ask from mathematics though, and that's what I'm trying.

But when it comes to it, does it really matter? You're not going to tell someone that you're obsessed with them. You can honestly tell them that you love them, as long as you believe it (ah so many times though I've made this mistake). Inanimate objects probably don't care how you feel, but if they do, just be honest with them as well.

If it's only one person, then it could be called 'unrequited love.'

I didn't say we knew exactly what it was.

I said right now to the best of our understanding it's caused by a chemical reaction in the brain.

Even if it's a set of chemical reactions it's still beautiful anyway.
