I love a pumpkin soup, or any kind of Asian soup with noodles in it (like laksa). Or a tomato soup!

Okay, any kind of soup is good. :D

Never heard of laksa.

It's delicious.

I love that, too. I like the spicy version of it. I love spicy soups in general such as Tom yum etc. I also like pumpkin soup. Actually pumpkin soup is my favorite. I make it myself. It's very easy to make.

In winter a soup is a good way to keep warm. Hot tea/coffee doesn't keep you warm.

Yeah, spice just adds another dimension! It keeps you warmer for longer too, I find.

I love noodles! I don't eat soup very often unless it's chilly out or I'm not feeling well, unless it has lots of long, skinny noodles. :D

There's some ancient Chinese that eating long noodles means a long life. If that's true, then I'll surely live to be a hundred.

I'm a fan of soup, as well. Someone mentioned Tomato, with a grilled cheese sandwich (that's my all-time FAVORITE lunch), and tied for first place, is French Onion.

Others, I love: New England Clam Chowder, Chicken Noodle (when I'm sick), Beef Vegetable, Split Pea----and, Potato Soup (I put blue food coloring in this, when I got hooked on the "Bridget Jones" movies! LOL). Potato and NECC are actually tied, for first place, as well!! When I used to be able to afford to go to "Whole Foods", for groceries, I ALWAYS got NECC----even in summer----because it was THAT good!!

I made a huge pot of chicken soup every week for over a year, varying ingredients slightly. But I haven't made any for several months. We do have a couple fridges.. maybe I should make a batch again soon.

I haven't eaten much soup recently.. but I do get to sample fantastic soup almost every day at work when the chefs put samples of the daily specials up in the morning. Mmmmmmm! :D

I love soup, too.
I love the simple things in life.
I love this thread - I wish I had seen it weeks ago!
I like focusing on small things that bring such pleasure.

Looks like I'm pretty basic and plane.
My absolute favourite soup is:
1. TOMATO
Finishing off my top five list would be:
2. Chicken
3. Pea (either with or without the danm ham)
4. Bean with Bacon
5. Tied: Chili Bean or Cheese chowder.

Oh, I LOVE that soup, too!! I make a mean one, from scratch----and, if you live in the U.S., you might be familiar with the tradition of taking food to someone's house, when someone has died, and that's one that I used to make-and-take, all-the-time----along with a cheese and onion quiche. Both things are great for singular servings----you can keep a huge pot of the soup on the stove all-day, for all the people coming and going; and, you can slice a piece of quiche, sprinkle a little water on it, and put it in a plastic bag, and nuke it.

Tonight I'm making a chicken/rice/tomato soup from leftovers.
