They're building a Starbucks where I live. I can't think of a more worthless place for them to be building. We have Tim Horton's left and right, and their coffee and food isn't severely overpriced. And I heard their coffee isn't even all that good. I don't think Timmy's coffee is that good either, but I'm a tea drinker and that's what I always order. I think the only reason most people will go to Starbucks is because Timmy's is too busy or because they think it makes them look "sophisticated" or some junk. Maybe tourists from the states will like it.

I'm tired of the "party-size" bags of chips. You pay almost as much as you do for the "family-size", but only get a few chips more.

Also, I forgot McDonald's: They used to have a double cheeseburger on their dollar menu; then, it went up to a dollar, nineteen; then, higher----and now, even higher; it really ticks-me-off, cuz I used to be able to treat myself once-a-month, with a double cheeseburger and a small fry, now I don't because I feel they're taking advantage of people!

And don't forget the reduction in menu items! The only breakfast food you can buy all day there is a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit!

I can't stand CVS Pharmacy. The employees at the pharmacy have treated my grandma like crap for not getting the generic brand of her hypertension medicine (she's allergic to a filler in the generic brand). There was one that opened near my house, so my mom and I went there. They asked for my mom's ID because she got medicine for menopause symptom relief.

I also don't like EOS, a company that makes those sphere lip balms and other stuff. I've used their lip balm and shaving cream before and didn't like it. The lip balm made me want to apply it constantly, because if I didn't, my lips would get dry. The shaving cream didn't even help prevent nicks and razor burn!

Also, there's been a lawsuit on their lip balm.

I also have a love-hate relationship with the Lip Smacker brand. I've used their lip balms, glosses, etc for years, but things have changed since they were sold to Markwins. They've changed the flavors of quite a few of their flavors, especially the Coke and Dr. Pepper ones. They've also changed the caps and they don't stay on as well as they used to. I admit, some of their flavors are still great, but if they make drastic changes in flavors and quality, I'm moving on to another brand.

I've always hated those "ask your doctor" ads for some drug where 90% of the commercial tells you all about the scary and even life-threatening side effects you could get from it, and by the time they're finished you've practically forgotten what the drug was supposed to treat. And then they tell you to ask your doctor if name of drug is right for you. If there was something wrong with me that I felt needed a trip to the doctor, I probably would have done it already and gotten something else for it that was probably safer and better.

There used to be ads for drugs for people whose eyes are irritated from allergies, and one of the side effects was that you could get glaucoma. Well that's a fair trade. And all those drugs for depression where they warn people you could become suicidal. I even once heard compulsive gambling being a potential side effect. What?! 8O

This is actually unique from location to location. Franchised stores must offer breakfast, but have a choice as to what items. The one by me has all sandwiches but only serves them on biscuits during non-traditional breakfast hours. They also have pancakes too I think. If you try a different one near you they may just offer more. I personally don't even like McDonalds, I prefer real breakfast sandwiches made at a local place.

All of you non-NJ people miss out on our only native joy... The almighty Pork Roll Egg and Cheese sandwich.

Satellite television I've a problem with, just like cable you initially get a low price. Then they raise the price more and more until you're fed up with them, and start looking elsewhere. Which starts another problem when they start calling you constantly trying to hook you again with another "deal." Not to mention how flimsy satellite can be in any kind of weather that's stronger than a breeze.

I also have a problem with any company that sells cars, because I find them all incredibly shady. The price is never what it says on the sticker, they try to get to buy things for the car that have no relevance what so ever. The worst thing about it is that they try to get you into loans that are favorable to them. Not to mention the complete mental exhaustion that you feel after all the loops that they put you through. I remember a few years ago I went with my mom to buy a new car, and I was just sitting there. Not heavily engaged in the conversation, and I felt completely tired afterwards from all the non sense.

Triple A video game companies bug me too charging up the nose a full 60 U.S. dollars that I don't even know if I will like at all. Not to mention some companies uncanny ability to have the gall to have day one DLC/ pre-orders for games that are not even released to the public. Probably not polished well enough to see that the game has a ton of bugs in it. * I'm looking at you Sim City :x * I get it it no game has zero bugs in it, but still to have the nerve to sell DLC before a game comes out.

Lastly retail companies, not just because I find them shady. * which I do by the way * But how blatant they are when Black Friday comes around. They will spend millions of dollars in ads just to entice you with deals of sub par products. That they fully understand is sub par, and is not worth spending your money on. But they do it any way because they want a profit, and the complete madness that comes with queuing in line just to get into the store. The mad dash of people trying to get said product, and the fights that follows over a television. That they probably didn't need in the first place. They are all jerks that keep their employees working on holidays, and more likely not paying them nearly enough to deal with all the non sense. Now a days telling them to show up on Thanksgiving to deal with the crowd.

Basically what I'm saying is that any company that is participates in shady practices. Which you could argue is every one of them... I have a problem with. * don't get me started with companies that sell razors * I just realized how much vitriol I've for companies in general, and I fell like I should get help for that. But I don't want to because I feel justified in my rage.

Ads for products to treat male erectile dysfunction with all these happy couples leering at other I find annoying. I still wonder if any guy has ever sought medical attention for an erection lasting longer than fours hours. And if they did, how hard would it be for the admitting healthcare professional to keep a straight face?

Microsoft. My motherboard broke down last week so i decided to do the full upgade: new motherboard, ram, and a fancy skylake processor. Low and behold Windows 10 is a piece of s**t that refuses to clean install via usb since Microsoft decided to forgo usb drivers during the initial install unzip. So now I have to go searching around for an old dvd burner to make a phyical disc, like it's 2006, not 2016. I don't believe in upgrading an install, if it's a new OS then I want it fresh-- f**k you Steve Ballmer.

I used to have a similar attitude to DLCs. Until I realized that's really what allows these companies to make any profit. The cost of producing a game today is far higher than it was in earlier generations due mainly to the manpower required to create them. Have you seen game credits lately? It's as long or longer than any Hollywood blockbuster. These companies make a very small profit out of selling the games. In some cases it can be a few dollars per copy. And it's not like movies where there is a theatrical release, followed by sale and rental income. So when you walk into the store and pay 60 of our hard earned dollars down for a game? The store makes very little, as the markup isn't too much, as it can't be. And the game developer makes little. In most cases if you buy a 10 dollar DLC, they've made more profit off of that then they did the actual game.

Now my big issue comes in when you get very little in the DLC for 10 bucks. I better get more than a few new outfits for my character and a new gun. Or a lousy new character class. I want content. If I get content, I have no problem paying more.

Games like Fallout 3 (and hoping 4) and Borderlands 1/2 had excellent DLC content. Other games not so much.

Like you said I don't have a huge problem with DLC. The problem comes when they make so little content, or when it is lousy. They expect us to pay for that just because... Sim City 2013 was notorious for doing just that, which is why I mention them.

Ok so then we're saying the same thing then. I just think the anti-DLC bit is a very commonly held belief that isn't thought through.

Never did any of the Sim games so I wouldn't have known about their DLC.

Verizon. They recently started charging me $20 more a month for my data plan. I would switch but they have the best coverage where my parents live & I travel a couple times a year to see them. I had Cingula & AT&T at different times before they merged & I had problems with them. I'm from south Louisiana & my Cingular was down for over a month after hurricane Katrina because they had some switches in New Orleans even thou I lived over an hour away. They charged me for breaking my contract when I switched to AT&T. I fought with them on the phone & got them to drop the fee. I forget what problem I had with AT&T was after that. I tried having Sprint at one point but it barely works outside where my parents live.

I'm onboard with the OP. Any and every company that has reduced the amount of product sold in what used to be a standard increment. Often they'll do their very best to try to make the product appear the same size as before, by keeping the front the same size but making the box much thinner, or the infamous inverse dome first added to the bottom of mayonnaise bottles. It first started when fuel costs shot up and their excuse was that their transportation costs were so much higher they had no choice. Funny how things like that never return back to where they were even after the external influence is gone, eh?

Also, selling goods in less than standard increment packages really makes recipes more troublesome. Gone are the days when you could simply add one 8 oz container of something, now you have to either adjust the rest of the ingredients or buy two and waste some. Makes me wish all recipes would convert to mass, anyway...
