What are you going to make in your cooker, TM1?

I liked to cook bread but anything I can will be nice. I just glued the plastic window on it but knowing aspie luck its been raining a little so might not be able to test it.

One technical problem with these cookers is most the light spectrum is not very good for cooking so that means the food if not dark needs to be covered with something dark.
Like thin dark pans with dark lids are recommended. Even a brown paper bag that is
precooked to remove odors makes a good cooking container. I was thinking of washing a potato and rubbing with oil then placing in a brown paper bag.

I'd be trying damper:
Australian Damper

This bread made by bush settlers may be baked on the open fire or in a regular oven. As is typical of hand-me-down recipes, there are as many versions as there are bush babies. One recipe we read says to use beer instead of milk, then wrap the dough around a stick and cook over an open fire.

* 2 cups self-rising flour
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 2 tespoons sugar
* 3 tablespoons butter
* 1 cup milk

Mix the flour, salt and sugar together in a bowl. Cut in the butter until fine crumbs form. Add milk to make a soft dough. Knead lightly on floured board until smooth. Shape into round loaf, brush with milk, and bake at 375 degrees F. for 30 to 40 minutes, or until the loaf makes a hollow sound when tapped.

eat it like a scone - with butter (or cream) and jam

**edit jam = jelly in USA

And I wouldn't bother with the stick. Cook like a scone, biscuit or cookie

Yeah that pizza box design is pretty much the same design I'm using. It rained off and on today so no testing yet :(

Hmm not that sunny out I just checked it. Two cats were laying right by the cooker and moved the box 45 degrees also. Seemed warm but I did not open it to check the potato. Will just let it go till darkness and I will decide later if it cooked the potato.

Fembots (from Austin Powers movie) would be a useful peice of machinery to have around the house.

Here's one. But it may take a while to cook food.
