Have you ever hurt your pet on accident?

I've accidentally trod on my dog's paws or my cat's tail. Also, I've occasionally kicked my cat by accident if she runs in front of my feet while I am walking.

This is horrible but when I had pet birds and let them fly loose(Love Birds) I was vacuuming(Hoovering) walking backwards when I heard a squawk. Looked down behind me and I realised I had just stepped on a bird. He flew up to the side of his cage then slowly fell to the floor, dead. I actually tried alittle mouth to mouth or mouth to beak, but it was too late.

I feel awful when I accidentally step on a foot or a tail.

I've stepped on Cow Kitty's tail once or twice. I've done lots of stuff by accident that she wasn't too happy about but nothing that inflicted any pain.

I have sat on my pet rat for close to a minute before I noticed cause she started wiggling.
She just stretched out and crackled back into shape no worse for the wear. Still felt real bad about it.

While throwing the stick for our dog to catch, she ran too fast and ended up directly under the stick and got bonked on the head. I have never heard such a loud yelp before and spent several minutes loving on her trying to calm her down.

Yesterday I turned round and bumped into Flo because I didn't realise she was sat so close to me.
I apologised and gave her a kiss though and she started purring straight away so I think she's OK.

I've stepped on my cat's tail or paws more than once.

I invariably feel awful for doing so, and always take the time to pick her up and give her a cuddle to say sorry. She usually starts purring, so I think it works.

Once, I was sitting on my office chair with wheels, and the phone rang. I accidentally rolled the chair over my kitty's tail, and she gave a yelp. When I looked at the floor, there was a tuft of fur! I made much of her, petted her and told her I was sorry. Another time, I was reading in bed, and I started to doze off, dropping the book on my cat's head. She still gets suspicious when I'm holding a book, LOL. They're so little and sweet, I hate it when I hurt them.

Last night I accidentally stepped back onto my dog's paw- wearing SHOES! He yelped so loud! I felt really terrible, and gave him lots of affection to make up for it.

I have often hurt my pets by accident. They seem to know I'm sorry.

The worst think I have done is hit dogs in the car. The first time was about a decade ago. I was travelling at 110kph along a highway when a dog ran out in front of me. There was no way I could stop as there were cars everywhere. It was a loud thump so I hope death was instant.

The next time was at night. I was lost as usual, and under pressure to deliver the car. A dog ran across the road and of course I hit it. I did a u turn and searched for it. I could hear whimpering, but when I stopped the car I couldn't find it. I only hope it limped home.

I hate injuring any animal. :

I have a disabled parrot (one wing) that occasionally loses her balance as a result of her disability. Occasionally when i'm holding her she'll lose it and topple over and i can't catch her fast enough. She can't fly so i end up picking her up off the floor. This rarely happens now since she's learned to compensate for her balance issues.

Just a minute ago, my cat was laying on the chair next to me, rolling around and being 'lovey'. All of a sudden she extends her claws and grabs ahold of my arm, and I have two big ol' scratches bleeding in my arm.

I almost "accidently" hurt her, she's lucky I just got her with the squirt gun. I need some neosporin.

I still love her though and she's back on the chair rubbing her face against the back of the chair, waiting for her next chance to strike...

One time I was letting my mom's dog outside and I accidentally shut the door on its tail (it was crooked from then on).

Also, one time one of the dogs ran under me while I was carrying some laundry and I stepped on him before I saw him. He's a small dog and I thought I had killed him, but after a while he walked it off and was fine.
