2000 was also the last year I EVER used dial-up internet, on a personal note.

First year of senior high school, so I finally got to wear a blazer. Felt like a more serious student too, since graduation was next year and I had to think more about my future. I also went on student exchange to Japan for a month at the end of the year, where I saw snow for the first time and had my one and only white Christmas at a ski lodge, plus spent New Years at a Shinto temple. Brilliant end to a brilliant year. :D

I also visited Banff, Alberta in the year 2000. I got to use the internet outside of my home, thanks to an internet booth at one of the hotels I stayed in during my visit.

The things that I most remember from the year 2000 were the controversy over George W Bush's election "win", the petrol shortage that briefly crippled the UK, my family going online for the first time, my grandfather moving out of London to live on the south coast and, most significantly for me, being the year that I became a metalhead.

Yeh not so great having a speed induced psychotic break with my good mates going after my aspergian quirks and anxieties .Unfortunately no body hates you like a friend is frequently true for undiagnosed aspergians with all my social winning ways . Anyhow diagnosed now .
