My dad was amongst the pioneers in information technology here in Denmark; he still have the programmer's reference material for ther very first vacuum-tube-based computer that was built and operated in this country...

My mum doesn't take note of the fact that I've probably a person with ASD  because even without it she's ashamed that her only daughter is different than other young ladies of her age and she likes comparing me with other young women and criticising me :x

CockneyRebel, I remember one of your posts where you said that you identified with almost everthing about Austin Powers. Do you think the real you doesn't feel like that? Do you act like him more for your mother?

My dad has epillepsy.

The cause of it?

Someone hit him years ago over the head with an iron bar.

Although, his weed smoking and alcohol abuse did not really help.

I was doing that, until February. My avatar reflects the real me.

My parents lasted 26 years, then divorced. My dad was in the Navy, so he was gone a lot. When he was home, he slept all day and only interacted with us kids to tease us with his silly jokes. He remarried and I did not attend the wedding. This has caused a lot of strife and I hate his new wife. She's overbearing and nice in that extremely fake way. She babies him like he's her son. My grandmother is a b***h and he is always trying to please her, so my sister and I aren't surprised he married someone that babies him. My father and I almost never speak. He refuses to meet with me without his new wife around and thus can no longer attend family gatherings, as her presence would upset me, my sister, and, more importantly, our mom.

That's EXACTLY how it was with my father, before he wrote me a letter, telling me that he would no longer be able to see me, since his wife refused to be around me any longer. He said it "just didn't feel right" to be around me, without his wife there too. What the heck? He makes it sound like it would be cheating or something! :?

What is it with men? Why can't they stand up to these wicked women? It's no coincidence that stories like Hansel & Gretel exist!

I guess that I'll have to keep on hoping. She'll clue in, one day.

Oh right.

I think like-wise.

I've tried to like and love my dad, but it's hard to, because he's childish, complicated, and biased.
