Turns out that "fear of water" is a bit simplistic - hydrophobia, at least in rabies, is more nuanced.

Thinking on it, I have known a couple of old folk who dislike the feeling of water on them and avoid showering as a result. That was pretty sad to see, but their carers found ways of dealing with it.

I go a while without showering sometimes but that is partly cuz of an inconsistent schedule & skin eczema. My GP actually suggested that I shower every other day instead of every day so my skin won't get as dry. It's hard for me to remember a habit if I don't do it every day. It also doesn't help that I get distracted very easily sometimes. I may sometimes go 7 days without a shower but NEVER anything even remotely close to 7 decades. I go a while without shaving sometimes but that is cuz shaving is difficult for me due to bad fine motor-skills & bad vision. I shave in the shower which causes me to spend over an hour in there. It's hard for me to motivate myself to do tasks that I majorly dislike due to having difficulties performing them. I never had a fear of getting ill from getting wet thou. I do love eating meat like cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, fish, & shrimp but I have NO desire to eat rotten meat. I do drink a lot of water due to meds causing dry mouth & bad sinus & allergy problems causing my nose to get clogged & forcing me to breath out my mouth. I'm not even remotely like him in the other ways. I'm not gonna judge him thou. He may be interesting to talk to but that lifestyle is not for me.

Akin to the red panda, it seems to have its own family. I really like civets and genets, didn't know they are related. Absolutely love Yellow Mongooses, although they're separate. They look like foxes that stay on two feet like in some kids story, that climb tree branches and nibble each other, have cute eyes when they close them.

It would probably be wrong to eat anything that came out of a cat's butt because

Ahh, apologies.

I agree Civets are fascinating creatures, and some have beautiful markings. Unfortunately because Kopi Luwak has become fashionable (and commands high prices) Asian Palm Civets are increasingly being kept in cages for the coffee trade now. So the whole gross-out 'joke' coffee thing has a dark side.

That makes me really angry TBH. Why can't humans leave creatures alone rather than mistreating them?

Strange.

I Like the feeling of a hot shower flowing over me. Or swimming - even in the ocean. Sometimes feels a little sketch when you can't see through dark water to know if there are any crabs or fish or whatever, and it's a different feeling all together to be on the surface of water over 200' deep - cooooould be a whale under ya! :shock:

That's very common for autistic people. Showers are often a sensory nightmare.

I can't stand putting "just" my hands in water. I can swim, bathe, shower, etc., where I get wet all over, but washing my hands, washing up dishes, or sticking my hand in a swimming pool to check the temperature would freak me out. It's pretty challenging having aquaria of fish in my house.

I have major sensory issues with getting wet, but no fear of water or washing. On my worst sensory days, I can still at least use baby wipes to stay somewhat clean.

Yes, I loathe being sweaty, and when the air is really humid. Summer in Kansas is a nightmare for me.

I know what you mean. I have a very low tolerance for high heat & humidity & the summers in Louisiana where I'm originally from get so bad sometimes that the temps would be in the 90s & the cement porches & carports would have giant puddles from the humidity even thou we had no rain. I hate feeling sweaty as well even thou I don't have an aversion to water. I researched sweating a little(I am an Aspie so I do like research sometimes, especially if it might potentially benefit me) & there is a disorder called Hyperhidrosis that causes people to sweat very easily & excessively. There are various treatments that can reduce sweating including meds & I think some surgeries. I take one of the meds Ditropan/Oxybutynin partly to reduce my sweating & partly to help with frequent urination. I think it slightly helps with both & I haven't noticed side-effects. I could be having side-effects but I'm lots of other various meds for various things so I could be having side-effects & not know it's from that med if the side-effects developed gradually. I'm not really recommending anything, just tossing some ideas out there incase your curious.
