Where are videogames, movies, and television on the list? For me, a good comendy always cheers me up. A good comendy is the best when it comes to any of the above three. Having humor mixed into these media outlets is what helps me relax the most.

definitely the exercise. Its murder trying to get on that treadmill, but man, it really helps. I usually feel more balanced after a nice long walk. The cats are a nice addition. That, and i love to go to places where i can sit on a bench and watch people go by. Its almost a study in anthropology and human behavior. I also like to shop to find certain colors in clothing... my favorite is patterns using red and a nice rich shade of blue. Those colors seem to heat and cool each other so well, and I feel really excited and stimulated when i see that combination. Hence the avatar.

I agree that exercise helps. Though I am sometimes lazy and it is a difficult habit to commit to.

researching my obsession.

Same for me. I also like video games...though these things can cause me to becone quite anti-social. As much as I hate it, sometimes it seems to help to get out and be around people. People I actually like, I might add.

I don't tend toward depression, but things that can get me out of a funk are exercise, small amounts of alcohol, talking to a friend or family member, and music. Probably the best "pick me up" is to hit the road and hike around a favorite mountain or river. Nothing clears my head like the absence of responsibilities and people.
